We finally--FINALLY--after almost 2 weeks of discussing it, decided tonight which resorts we are doing. Mid-May, 8 nights, AoA Little Mermaid and Port Orleans.

What we haven't decided is French Quarter or Riverside, and if Riverside, standard room or Royal Room.

Things to know:
~Me, husband, 4 YO daughter
~Ariel is her fave, then Tania
~Going to celebrate her 5th birthday and me turning 40
~I will NEED the hot tub at Port Orleans at some point for my sciatica
~Husband is happy to take it easy as much as I let him, too much gets overwhelming for him
~I have been to WDW a few times, dad and Z only one day at MK and DTD in 2011
~We will not be returning until she is 8-10 years old (nothing against the mouse, we just have other vacation places we want to experience)

Throw all your ideas, advice, experiences at me about split stays and how you decided and which resort we should do first/last.

Sounds like a sweet vacation.

I would probably do AoA first, and then PO. When we do a split stay, we like to upgrade a resort level, rather than downgrade. At the beginning of our trip, we are excited and like to hit the parks so we would most likely be spending more time in the parks than at our resort. Towards the end of our vacation, we are more relaxed and want to relax, so it nice to be at a resort that offers more amenities.

Having said that, I've never stayed at AoA, so I don't know if it's has a chaotic/high energy or relaxed/laid back atmosphere.

If you won't have a car, just have bell services transfer your luggage.
