Doesn't everybody have Disney on speed dial? Seriously? Mickeystoontown does! 5/14

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Welcome to the latest pre-trip report written by the one and only me. Me? Who is me? Me is Lisa (actually I am Lisa but since I started out with who is me? I figured that I’d stick with “Me is Lisa”), also known as Mickeystoontown on the Disboards. Heeeeey! :wave2:

Since this isn’t a solo trip, I need to introduce you to the rest of the Mickeystoontown crew. Well, actually only a portion of the crew since the number of people going has been cut in half.

You know, there’s only so much one can say when describing their family. I mean, seriously, unless there’s a major change from one trip report to the other (or in this case, one trip report to a pre-trip report), the intros are pretty much the same. So, I’m going to cheat a bit and copy part of the introductions that I made in my last pre-trip report.

First, there's our son, Hunter, who has celebrated 14 of his 16 birthdays at Walt Disney World. (The other two were a near miss by just two and a half months.) Hunter will turn 17 on the day that we leave our hometown and head to Walt Disney World. He's super talented and can play just about any instrument by ear and is first chair viola in the orchestra. :charac2: Hunter is also a prankster and keeps us in stitches 24/7. If there is anybody who you'd think would be an actor and/or stand-up comedian, it's Hunter. He thinks fast on his feet and can come up with one-liners before you can blink an eye. :clown:

Hunter all gussied up for French Club Christmas celebration:

and the more laid back “normal” Hunter at Margaritaville on my birthday:

The man of the family is my husband, John. John and I own a cabinet shop which is operated right on our property but, several years ago, he went back to work full time for a commercial cabinet shop where he used to work. John is also a preacher's kid and was every bit what you’d think he would have been. :faint: He had a sporty fast car, looked older than his age and was a bit rebellious. Thank goodness I came along and straightened the boy out. Otherwise, there's no telling where he'd have ended up. John is an outdoorsman and enjoys working in the yard and in the garden. Sweating like crazy and working until he is worn completely out is like therapy to him. John suffers from epilepsy and, unfortunately, it does effect our everyday life. But, it is what it is and the good Lord helps us through it so we deal. I mean, what else are we to do? :confused3

Then, there's me, Lisa, a/k/a Mickeystoontown. I'm a paralegal in a one attorney/one paralegal law firm that specializes in domestic/family law. I'm a lover of all things Disney and am in constant Disney trip planning mode. My hobbies include working in the garden, sewing both Disney and non-Disney themed backsacks and little girls' dresses (if any of you are interested, let me know ), camping and, basically, anything that includes the outdoors. I am definitely a tomboy. I have Bell's Palsy which doesn't have a great effect on my every day life but I do have the droopiness/puffiness of the face and some associated headaches. Just thought I'd point that out in case you wonder "what's up with her face?".

In case you are wondering, I’m the one on the left and John’s the one on the right. Oh you weren’t wondering? Okay.

The other part of our family who is not traveling with us is our daughter, Lacey, and her husband, Jesse. They were set to go with us and even had their reservations made when real life interrupted and they had to purchase a new Jeep. Do they buy a new vehicle and hope that nothing happens to their old one? OR Do they do the irresponsible thing and spend the money on a trip? I’ve already told you which one they had to do. Sucks being a grown up and having grown up responsibilities sometimes. :headache: (A lot of times.) Jesse and Lacey live in Tennessee and we don’t get to see them as often as we like. Actually, a lot less than we’d like....like just two/three times a year.

Here’s a picture of our family at Christmas time.

My family is so wonderful and amazing and talented and beautiful and the best people in the whole wide world! What? You think that I’m bragging? Of course I am! ::yes:: Having said that, I have a question for ya’ll. When you are watching Wheel of Fortune and Pat asks the contestants about themselves do you ever wish that somebody would say something like “Well, Pat, I’ve been married to and putting up with the same grumpy old man for 20 years and we have two sorrier than sorry ugly kids. I love my life! Thanks for asking!”. I would love to do that. Couldn’t you just see Pat and Vanna’s jaws drop? It would be hilarious! :lmao:

Speaking of hilarious, I guess you can tell that I have a weird sense of humor. I’m not the only one in my family who does. Just take a look at some of our Christmas photos.

A little smoochy woochy:

And the “I cut the end of my thumb off” prank that John played on Hunter. Don't worry, it's just a weiner and ketchup:

Sooooo, there you have us, the Mickeystoontown family! Nice to meet ya! Nooooo, don’t run away! :scared1: Come back! Stick around prettttttty please....I promise that I have lots of fun Disney plans to share and talk over with ya’ll! You’re going to stay? Good! :)

I'm here; I'll be back to read later...I just wanted to save my spot.

***Back.

I love your intros and I love your family. I can't wait to read your daily plans to see what parks we might overlap at.

Well it certainly didn't take you long to get this started. Can't wait to hear your plans

One of these days we'll be in WDW at the same time. :goodvibes

You are such a fun family, I sure hope to be involved with some of that fun one of these trips. :thumbsup2

Ooooh, ooh, oooh, I made it to page one of a Mickeystoontown report!!!!! :cool1:

Going back to read now...

Ya'll are so much fun! party: BFF and I are talking about taking a weekend trip down to stay with my mom and dad and visit Duck and Dressing this summer. If we get it worked out I would love to try to have a Dismeet with you if you are around that weekend! :thumbsup2

You get to go To Disney for two weeks?! That is awesome!!! pixiedust:

Count me in! I've been away from the DIS for a while, as we just had a new addition to the Curiouser family! Bouncing Baby Boy #2! (Yeah, we were actually told we were having a girl- was looking forward to buying some of your dresses! Guess that's not going to happen!)
I've read most of your other Trip Reports (not sure if I can claim that I've read them all), but I don't comment much. I'll try to change that this time around!

Sorry that Lacey and Jesse won't be making it this year! I'll keep my fingers crossed for some stroke of luck that changes that! You just never know!

I'm here!!!!! Reading along...:wave2:

Well, actually only a portion of the crew since the number of people going has been cut in half.

Is Momma not going either? :(

I have Bell's Palsy which doesn't have a great effect on my every day life but I do have the droopiness/puffiness of the face and some associated headaches. Just thought I'd point that out in case you wonder "what's up with her face?".

I have to be really honest with you and say that I haven't noticed a single thing unusual about your face lol You are beautiful and you really need not worry people are thinking anything less when you look at ya ;)

:lmao:
