Our cruise is almost here and this is the first time we have taken a Disney Cruise without the kids. We are trying to decide what to do with ourselves. We have been on a few Disney cruises but have never been to any of the adult areas because we have had kids with us. We also don't drink. Will we feel dumb hanging out it the bars and lounges if we don't drink or are we expected to buy a drink if we are in there listening to music or just sitting? Are there shows in any of the adult areas?

You'll be fine. We hung out in the adult areas on our last 2 cruises and never purchased any drinks. In the evenings, they often have a tiny "buffet" of appetizer type food set up in some of the lounges. You can easily hang out there, maybe munch a snack, watch a game on TV, etc.

Not at all! Since a lot of the activities are held in the lounges and bars the servers won't give you a hard time either. They will come along once and offer but after you decline they will leave you alone.

No. We've often gone to the lounges to meet with friends or see the show and didn't have a drink (or we carried one in that we hadn't finished at another location).

You can even stop at the soda station and get a soda to take with you into the clubs.

First cruise Magic went to club evey night for adult show, Disney Dirty LOL, had very hard time getting one. DCL does not care if you buy drinks or not you paid on front end. Just like no casino, its there you paid.

I see the ship as my home and I dont buy a drink to sit in my living room ;-) No worries you wont look dumb.

I would think you would feel more comfortable there than any regular bar if you aren't drinking. I see a lot of people that just come into 687 on the Dream to watch a game or participate in trivia or just look out the windows at the ocean since it has a great view out that aren't drinking, and as someone said earlier they have an appetizer buffet which isn't too bad.

I take my own alcohol on board, so have often taken a glass of wine into the bars with no issue. Equally have sat there and not got anything, its really no problem.

We sat in O'Gills one night to hear the guitarist. DH had a drink, but I had reached my limit. So I ordered club soda. No prob at all.

I second maybe getting something that is non alcoholic. I don't drink either but ordered a few virgin piña colodas on the ship because it helped me feel like I was on vacation! However I definitely didn't feel pressured to order anything.
