DL and camping?

We are thinking about taking our 5th wheel trailer and camping rather than staying in a hotel. Has anyone done this? Any feedback?

A few people do this. Experiences vary.

There area few places nearby. To the east but over I-5 is Anaheim Resort RV Park. Up Harbor is Anaheim Harbor RV Park. Just north and west on Ball Rd is Travelers World.

You would have longer driver to the DL but there is a place called Canyon RV Park (http://www.canyonrvpark.com/) that I think would give you a better camping experience. You would be right along the Santa Ana River in an area that is wooded. It is technically still in Anaheim but it is on the north end. I think you would be about 20 minutes from DL.

If you want to enjoy the beach, then look further south to Newport Beach and consider Newport Dunes (http://www.newportdunes.com/). That place is amazing. They have a private lake, are near Newport Back Bay (an excellent ecological reserve) and you won't be far from the beach either. It will take you about 30 minutes to get to DL.

We tent camp and have stayed at both places on Harbor just north of the I5. One is Anaheim Harbor RV the other Anaheim RV Village.
I prefer the RV Village on the east side of Harbor (they're across the street from each other). You can watch the fireworks from the pool, both have laundry, clean bathrooms. We do more than Disney so I find the location great, easy to get to and back.

there's another place, haven't stayed at because I don't think they have tent sites but it looks nice, 1 mile from Disney.
