Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I asked for a room with a daybed and close to the lounge. I am travelling with my three daughters (dh has his own vacation, staying home with the dog!) so would appreciate the extra bed (if possible; know it's tough with just four of us) and proximity to the lounge. Since we booked a standard-view room, I am not too concerned with size of the balcony. Not going to sit outside to enjoy view of rooftops or parking lot!

Hi - we stayed in a standard-view room a few months ago and had also requested a daybed (which we got) and a full balcony (which we didn't get). I just wanted to say not to discount what type of actual view you'll get with a standard view because this is what we had! We were pleasantly surprised at night time....

We had a corner room, Room 5692, straight down the hall and immediately to the right, so not too terribly far from the lounge. Right here:

Our daybed:

Inside room. The middle window/door led out to the standing balcony.

Here are VIEWS from all 3 windows/door. This one is from the daybed window:

This view is from the standing balcony:

This view is from the window where we could see the high fireworks (night view and also day view):

And if they do online check in, am I safe in assuming they'll still be greeted upon exiting DME and escorted to the private check in area? How does that work anyway?

I just wanted to mention that although it doesn't happen on a regular basis, sometimes CL guests are checked in at the resort front desk rather than with a CL CM in the CL lounge. Sometimes the resorts get busy and a CL CM isn't available, so check in is done in the main lobby. I've had that happen at the GF when I stayed RPC. It is nice to be escorted up to the lounge for check in, but it's really not a big deal (at least not to me) if a CL CM isn't available.

Who will you be traveling with? Look forward to seeing you guys around!

It's my DH , myself and my 2 girls they are 10 & 8

TJA - How many people were in your party? That room looks really nice! With three girls (two of whom are teens), I would really value the extra space in the room rather than outside!

cantwaitvaca09 - We'll look out for you! Safe travels!

2 adults and 2 kids, both age 12, so the daybed was our 1st priority and almost a necessity if we want to sleep well!! I always confirm when given our room number that we indeed have a daybed. We've had to add a cot in the past and it really messed up our room and made it pretty tight. Good luck to you and have a fabulous time! BC CL has really stepped it up with the new lounge, food offerings, and room renovations!

I was wondering how long before our stay should we expect to get an email from the team? We are heading to AKL CL August 26th next year, but haven't heard from the team yet.

It sort of hit and miss. You might hear something soon, you might not. I recommend you go ahead and email them to touch base. :)

Does anyone know where the 5 DVC CL rooms (specifically the studios) are located in relation to the lounge? I know they are on the 6th floor but I wonder if they are near the lounge? Also slightly OT but still relevant to CL guests, did you know that the sunrise safari is no longer available?:worried:

I think they keep a chart of room locations over on the DVC board somewhere.

If staying CL, should I still do online check-in? This is our first time back since online check-in was instituted so not sure what to do ...?

Thanks!

Although it has only happened to us a couple of times out of many trips, we have had to wait for a CM to become available to escort us to the lounge. There is NO way my DH is going to check in in the main lobby since we are paying so much more for this extra service! Not to sound snooty or anything, but being escorted to the lounge is one of the things that makes us feel special and really kicks off our trip! I suppose if you were in a hurry, you might want to check in in the lobby if there isn't a CM available, but we try to keep our trips as relaxed as possible and would rather wait for a CM (although this isn't typical, thank goodness).

It's really just a matter of preference. We never do OCI as I like to check in at the resort, but everyone is different :).

It is a nice perk to get checked in up in the lounge with a CL CM, but I see that as more of a courtesy than anything else (but that's just me). I'm always excited just to be at Disney that it never matters to me where or what CM checks us in.

What's that about two great minds?

We don't do OCI, either. I either call or email the IPO with resort requests.

We usually are checked in upstairs, but it's happened that they have started the process downstairs, and then someone comes and takes us up to CL floor and they finish there.

I'm Ok either way. I'm just so glad to be there. Can't wait for our trip in Oct 2016! :dance3:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We are planning for July 2016, doing a Poly/CR split. We love the Poly and can't wait to return, but I'm also excited to try the CR :). Where are you staying in October next year?

Thanks! We'll just wait to check in when we arrive at BC then. I don't mind waiting and I don't mind who i speak with or where it's done ... I just like speaking to someone and being welcomed. THEN I will feel as if my vacation has officially started!

I know each family/person is different, that's why i want to know why you chose CL. we are staying deluxe for our next trip because we are traveling with grandparents who'd like to stay on the monorail. i was thinking a CL splurge might be nice. but don't know if that's were we'd like to splurge. (not that we need to splurge, we could just put the money towards another trip!) we have two younger kids and will spend our arrival/departure days at the resort, plus one pool day (maybe more for grandparents). we typically to parks in the morning and the resort for the afternoon. my thought was CL would be nice to have as a place to relax that wasn't the room and to get drinks and snacks. we might do one sit down meal, but mostly counter service. i don't think i'd use their 'planning' services. so . . . specifically - why do you chose CL? what services do you like best? what services don't you use? Thanks! (ps - we are staying at the poly and i haven't read the most glowing reviews of their CL lately, so that adds to my hesitation) Besides CL, any other 'splurges' that might be nice as an alternative? maybe upgrade our view?

We have started the process downstairs with someone until a CL CM is available, and I don't mind that. I just wouldn't want someone to tell me to wait in the check-in line in the main lobby. We wait in line to check in at a Hilton or Marriott, but at Disney, we are often paying 4-5 times the price, so I guess I expect it to be special. Even Marriott has a separate check in line for "elite" members of their rewards program, so to me, CL is somewhat the same. But no one has ever asked us to go to the main lobby to check in. We have always had a wonderful experience. As for online check-in, I suppose that's personal preference too, but I don't check-in online in case there is a problem with the room...like a person that recently stayed at GF and was given a room that looked at the back of the pool house! There are never any guarantees, but they got another room without a problem.

I'm the same way in that I like to talk to a CM upon arrival, which is why I never do OCI. Hope you have a great trip! :wizard:

We don't stay CL every trip, but when we do, it's more for the lounge and having another place to relax instead of in the room (like you mentioned) or around the resort. The food offerings are nice, but CL for us is more for the lounge than the offerings. I do all of the planning myself as well as book our ADRs, so I've never used IPO. With that said, IPO is great if you have questions/concerns or don't have the time (or don't want to spend the time) booking ADRs, etc, but planning is half the fun for me so I choose not to use IPO. We haven't tried Poly CL so I can't comment on it from experience, but being in the Hawaii building is great as it's located right next to the main pool, so it's convenient for grabbing drinks/snacks throughout the day if you will be spending some time at the pool. If the extra cost is doable, I'd splurge on CL, especially if you will be spending some time at the resort. We spend more time at the resort than we do the parks, so when we do stay CL, it works well for us :).

We're hoping to go back to BWI. We love that place! :goodvibes

BWI is a beautiful resort! We've never stayed there, but we've visited many times and it looks like a great resort. I also read so many great things about CL. I hope it works out for your stay :).
