Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

No upgrade and we got an unrenovated villa. It's perfect. Had dinner at Big River Grill and now it's time to relax because tomorrow is a full day at Magic Kingdom!!!
Oh, I thought you were staying at BWI, sorry for the CL confusion and for not getting a rehabbed villa, but I'm glad you think it's perfect:). Give a big hug to Mickey for all of us and enjoy your first full day of your Disneymoon.

I'm pondering a switch here from WL due to construction rumours. On the WDW site it advises that self-parking is very limited and you might have to pay for valet parking. Can anybody comment on this? Would it be difficult to self-park?
We were at the Boardwalk from 5/22-5/31 and had no problem parking at all, even over the long weekend

Just got email for on-line checkin. How does that apply to CL? Do you miss out on the CL welcome things if you do this? Kinda like the experience of getting escorted to CL.

Not sure what to do- any suggestions?

Checked in to the villas today. I haven't checked all of the floors but it appears that the rooms furthest from the lobby toward jelly rolls, numbers under 17 on the first and second floors anyway are all renovated. They may be farther along on the highest floors but those who are requesting higher floors in the attempt to get renovated rooms, there are lower floor rooms completed.

Does anyone know if Pete still does check in at Innkeeper's club. He's checked us in almost every time we've been there and I'd like to bring him a little gift this year. Any have suggestions?

Thanks!

Not sure if Pete will do check in depends on when you arrive but he loves candy corn!! We take him some every year mixed with dry roasted peanuts. It is a favorite in the fall in the Midwest. Gotta love Pete

We have 122 Days to go before arriving for our much anticipated visit to Disney (and our favorite resort the BWI) during the first week of October. We were originally scheduled for a late March visit, but I had the misfortune of falling and breaking my ankle in 3 places on Dec. 27. Thought the winter would never end and that I would miss out on my big adventure....but my daughter was able to reschedule everything for October! My ankle is healed and by October I should able to do all the walking I want as I am improving every day. Going through something like this accident really makes one appreciate all the simple things in life we tend to take for granted.....like walking. The four of us are counting down the days with great anticipation!!! Note to self: Be VERY careful when using the stairs...no more broken bones for this Disney Girl!

Is the Pete the older thin gentlemen at the CL desk? We love him, so sweet.

Thanks. I'll have to see if I could find some candy corn. We usually only see it here in NY during the fall.

Go ahead and do OCI and if you have any room location requests just email the IPO with those. OCI for CL stays just inputs your credit card to your reservation so that you don't have to show it when you check-in, nothing else will be impacted. A CL runner will still escort you up to the 4th floor where you will check-in (from 7 AM - 10 PM).

Thank you for posting a VWL rehab update and I hope you're having a magical stay!

That's terrible that you broke your ankle in three places. Does this mean you have to skip the MK Dance Party with Mr. Incredible? At least you can still watch;). I hope you have a pain-free vacation and maybe skip those steps for a while and take the elevator.

Could you add me to the vacation list. Dec 7-11. Thank you.

I'd be happy to add you and congratulations on booking BWI or is it BWV?

We stayed in room 3063 April 30-May 9 in the BWV.

It was AMAZING!!

We loved our room. It was not a refurb' room...but it was clean and charming.
The location is considered the Village Green area which is exactly where we had requested via Touring Plans.
It's about 2 minutes to the lobby....4 minutes to the BW...maybe 4 to the bus station...and 3 maybe to the main pool. I'm honestly probably over exaggerating the times....to be on the safe side. ;)
I would 100% stay there again in a heartbeat! It's also a partial BW view. (Barely...you can see the back of the area where they rent the surrey bikes)

The resort itself is lovely! Location!!!! 5 minute walk to Epcot and a 15 minute walk to DHS (or longer boat ride which is fine in the heat of the day) just cannot be beat!
We loved the Boardwalk Bakery...I literally ate a cinnamon roll every single day.
The food choices on the boardwalk are ok...the pizza window....not terrific....but not horrible....my daughters liked it once for lunch while we were having a pool day. We probably wouldn't get it again though.
We got chicken nuggets..fries ...funnel cakes and some ice cream another night. OH! And my daughters had their first funnel cake ! One of them conveniently took it out to the balcony one evening and the next thing you know it was GONE! Little Stinker! :)
If you don't love the choices on the BW you can always hop on into the WS ! No problem! (We have AP's so it wasn't an issue for us)

The Boarwalk itself comes alive at night! A few nights our daughters asked us to leave the parks early so they could watch some of the performers on the BW! They LOVED it! Coney Island Chris was their favorite !

Over all it was the best Disney Vacation we have had yet! Cannot wait to return to BWV again!!

Just thought I would share.

Thank you for sharing your great review. It's a great location and so convenient, too. It definitely sounds like you need to book another stay soon, especially with those APs;). Just curious, do you homeschool or have a year around schedule? That must have been a great time to go with much lower crowds.

KOOK, we don't homeschool. Our daughters are in 5th grade. They missed 6 days of school. (There was a teacher education day while we were gone so they wouldn't have attended that day anyway ) Luckily they are straight A students and their school has always been not only understanding but encouraging of family vacation time.
They had to do a Flat Stanly report during our stay...but they LOVED taking him everywhere and taking pictures of him doing things like Haunted Mansion. ;)
The crowds were VERY manageable ! The weather was pretty near perfect...one morning it was raining but stopped by the time we got to AK. And the last couple days is when it started with the REAL heat....but it was ok still.
Nothing a little visit to the Clown Pool didn't cure! My daughters LOVED the slide!!!!!

We actually came home and KNEW we had to return...so we put in an offer for a resale contract. (We stayed on rented points this trip) it was accepted so now we are in ROFR.
Wish us luck! We would love to call BWV a Home Resort !

I'm a DVC member so I think it's BWV. Correct me if I'm wrong.
