Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

We were originally booked at CR for August. It will be myself, my husband and our 2 kids ages 14 and a 1 1/2 year old. I just switched to the AoA thinking I migh have more to do with the baby there if we have to take a mid day break while the big boys stayed at the parks. I was torn because of the convenience of the monoral and CR, but really not a lot to see or do for smaller kids. Out of the 3 buildings for the Cars suites, is there one more "quiet" than the rest?

How would you request a specific building? We did online check-in and only had options for things like high/low floor, close to transportation, lake view, etc.

Call the main reservation line and add your building request to your reservation.

Where are the elevators located in building #9? Are the ground floor rooms facing the parking lot pretty quiet at night?

Just staying one night here and actually prefer a room close to/overlooking the parking lot. Why take a better view room away from someone staying their entire visit here? Planning on eating dinner at LoF after our 9-hr drive to WDW which is why I'm looking at building #9.

The only time we've ever had noise issues at AoA or any other Disney hotel have been with other guests up and down the halls. I think you'll love AoA.

Does anyone know whether the refillable mugs made of "safe" plastics (BPA/phlylate free)? (Yes, I am "that" mom, though I really only care if my children decide to get hot chocolate or another warm beverage.)

Is it faster to take a bus to EPCOT and then hop the monorail to MK? Or to just take the bus to MK?

Just take the bus to MK. Once on the bus you're dropped off at the MK entrance.

The monorail from EPCOT plan involves a bus, a monorail, and a transfer at the TTC to either another monorail or a ferry -- which is fine if riding different WDW transportation is the activity you want to experience.

Do the Little Mermaid king bed rooms have a couch, or just the table & chairs like in the double bed rooms?

no, just the table and chairs. Like a pop century room, but more themey. The chairs are shaped like shells. <a href="http://www.tripadvisor.com/Location...mation_Resort-Kissimmee_Florida.html#49960920"><img alt="" src="

Stayed at AOA for the first time over marathon weekend in a Little Mermaid room and thought the resort was great! After having only experienced deluxe resorts (Polynesian, Yacht Club, Swan/Dolphin), I was really impressed. So impressed that we're going back in April with my 4-year-old nephew and staying in a Lion King suite. Can't wait to go back!

Taking into account the Finding Nemo theming, has anyone seen the pale green 'Mine' seagull mugs at AoA? They had them at CBR last year but I didn't have enough room left in my suitcase to bring one home. ... or any of the 'Mine' merchandise, for that matter ...

Thanks.

I am a newbie. This is my first trip to Disney. It will be my husband and I with our 6 ( turning 7 while at disney) daughter and our 5 yr old son. I just booked the AoA hotel on Amex travel. Does anyone know when I can request rooms. Do I call disney? I didn't have that option on Amex site. I want to stay at LM and Cars (split). Also any help with dining plans and magic bands etc will be very helpful. I don't know where to even start. Sorry but the forums are so overwhelming and I'm not sure how to navigate through all of the information. Any help at all is very very much appreciated. Have a wonderful day and thanks in advance.
I'm specifically looking for help with purchasing magic bands. Fast pass info. Theme room request.
We are staying 5 nights. Thank you.

We are headed to AoA at the end of the month and are staying in a Lion King suite. Can anyone explain or post pictures of how the beds work please. We are a family of six and they sleep six. I noticed in the picture posted that it has a queen size bed and a sofa bed, where is the other bed? Does the table turn into a bed? Also can some post a picture of what the mugs look like that we will get? Thanks in advance for your help!

I got one there 2 years ago and they had them last summer still. I use mine all the time.

Don't know about the mug but the table pulls down into a bed. My kids loved sleeping on the table bed.
