Here are a few construction pictures from this weekend's trip to Disneyland.

At Disneyland, the biggest construction zone is the Rivers of America, which are down until May 6. There are also construction walls at the restaurant portion of the Tomorrowland Terrace, which is closed through July 2. Captain EO is scheduled to open February 23, but you wouldn't know it by being in the Park.

Over at DCA, testing continues on the World of Color with the platform still in "maintenance mode" during the day. Construction continues on the Orange Stinger replacement, Silly Sympony Swings, which is scheduled to open at the end of April. The Golden Zephyr is down for a seasonal refurb until April 2.

I'll post each area of the Parks in a separate post.

Rivers of America
The water is still drained from the ROA and will be until early May. You can also see that the tracks that the Mark Twain & Columbia travel on are missing.

Non-construction/New Stuff!!

New Fence on the Bridge to Frontierland - The entire bridge was replaced recently and this new "kid safe" fence was added

Princess Tiana's Mardi Gras Celebration - This show played several times this weekend in New Orleans Square. The first show we saw, Tiana sang several songs, then took pictures and signed autographs. The next show, she only sang one song, then went straight to autographs.

New light fixtures in the Casey Jr/Storybookland Boats area - According to a CM at the Storybookland Boats, these were added within the last week and were meant to look like buttons on the existing patchwork quilt....I don't get it.

Thanks for the updated pics Tom.

They're really helping the ABD-DISers get ready for the Podcast trip in April. I'm trying to keep the closings and construction in perspective - at least we'll be seeing things that others won't after the work is done. How often do you get to see a drained river and the underwater light placement for the WoC show ;)

Ugh. I don't get it either! The lights ruin the pretty quilt. :sad2:

Thanks for all of the updates!

Thanks Tom! I'm also going on the ABD trip and these pictures are a big help for me to visualize what DL will look like. I would rather not have the big green fence around the ROA and just be able to see it empty. For me the most picturesque part of DL is the ROA, but it is what it is. Great job! :thumbsup2

Another great update, Tom! You are the DIS's Official DLR Weekend Roving Reporter! :thumbsup2

Great photos!!! I can't wait until our DL trip the beginning of May. I hope to see the WOC.

Tom,
These look great. Keep them coming it helps cover the time between visits down there.
Don
