what ships are considered to be "voyager class". i want to make sure to book one of those.
Adventure Of The Seas
Explorer Of The Seas
Mariner Of The Seas
Navigator Of The Seas
Voyager Of The Seas

If you're going next year, might want to consider Freedom of the Seas as it will be in a class of it's own. http://www.freedomoftheseas.com

The above "side by side" comparison is a good tool. It is very difficult to compare "apples to apples." For instance, you must go up to a "junior suite" on RCCL to equal the space of the standard cabin on DCL.
For me, the biggest negative to RCCL is that eating in Johnny Rocket's had a $4 fee each time--DD would be there twice a day. In know this is silly, but it's one thing for me to want to eat at Palo for a small fee, but I'd get tired of paying it daily for each of us! Another big negative (which might be a positive for some people) is the casino and smoking. Two of the things I most like about DCL is that absence of the casino and the very little smoking.

There is not a fee to dine at Johnny Rockets, but you do have to pay if you want a soda or a milkshake. Milkshakes were always $4. :)

We were on the Adventure of the Seas for the 2/29/04 sailing. We haven't done our first DCL yet, so I can't compare it yet, but we're going in Nov05! I can tell you, though, that the Adventure of the Seas Ship is magnificent! It was so beautiful! The kids program was great! Our kids never wanted to leave and, actually never joined us in the dining room after the first night! The only issue with the kids program is that they had times that it was open, ie, it was closed from 5-6pm, etc... Since we had early dining it made it a pain to get them to the club-but they wanted to go for the 6-10 session because they didn't want to miss anything. They took them to the buffet, the pizza place on the promenade and to Johnny Rockets for meals.

The dining room is just gorgeous. It is 3 stories and is so elegant like the Titanic! We really enjoyed it. The food, though, was just ok. This was our 1st cruise and we had gotten a lot of hype over how good food was on cruises and we weren't that impressed. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. Johnny Rockets was good, though, and so was the pizza place on the promenade-they also had sandwiches, etc...

The 3 story promenade is also really neat. It is like a shopping mall. The ice rink was cool-the rock climbing was fun, etc.... The ship was huge! We have since done a 4 night Carnival on the Fantasy and were so disapointed in the ship compared to the Adventure! We love Diseny and are hoping to enjoy DCL. From everything I've been reading it sounds great! I wouldn't hesitate to go on another RCI Cruise, though, on the Voyager ships. We did have a great time-but I might change my mind after we go on DCL! We'll see! :)

We have been on 3 Disney cruises, and decided to try something different this summer. We went on the Adventure of the Seas in July. We loved it. We love the Disney ones too, but for different reasons. The AOS is amazing, walking onto the ship, it is gorgeous! Huge, lots of activities. We did not have children with us, just 4 adults. We are not drinkers and didn't have drinks pushed at us. There are lots of bars, the only drinking problems we noticed were the 18, 19 year olds, whose parents let them drink. These were very few. We all noticed how little smokers we saw, saw alot more on Disney. Food is not great, but good, and I didn't have to cook and someone waited on me, and I loved it. Our waiters were fantastic! We had junior suites and they were very large, much bigger than Disney. We had tons of storage and a walk in closet. Embarkation was ok, we were in a suite so didn't have to wait in lines. The let you off by your flight times, we got off early, had no real problem, Disney did this better though. I liked the shows,
I thought that was very compariable to the Disney adult shows. If you have any specific questions, please ask.
