Disney Early Morning Magic - Details & Prices

Seriously, just waiting on dates. My trip isn't too far out and I'm hoping hoping hoping that this won't start til after our trip, cause I have a PPO ADR at BOG, for the extra park time and such.

This is a pretty low cost opportunity for them. It probably doesn't cost too much to open 3 rides for an extra hour or "guide" people to them. So in that sense it will probably be successful.

I can't see a situation where I would pay for this myself but I'm not particularly mad about it. They are likely targeting a different audience than me. Not sure who that audience is (convention goers?)

Why oh why would anyone pay that kind of cash for 3 rides, one of which is Winnie the pooh? It's like a 20 min wait for that ride. And I can't imagine a person could ride 7DMT and Peter Pan $70 worth.

Our next trip after the summer one which we've already paid for is a going to be a discovery cove vacation. I'm a little sick of the greed.

And does this mean that regular park opening will move to 10:00 for regular guests?? That's just crazy.

At some point, I think this is going to backfire on Disney. If EMH goes away, resorts will start to feel empty as people have fewer incentives to stay onsite. When people look at the cost for these "extra" hours and compare it to a whole day, who's going to pay it? $70 for 2 hours??? And only three rides open???

Who is thinking these things up? Did Disney hire a new marketing person or something? We were seriously thinking of making a fall trip, but no more. Disney has lost this customer (which is what I am now; no longer a GUEST) for the foreseeable future.

No, the park will open at 9 for day guests, you basically get from 7:45-9 to get through 7DMT, PP, and Pooh + breakfast for $70.

This is in direct response to people making early morning ADRs to get into the park early, like this (emphasis mine):

Sounds like breakfast is available until 10 but parks open at 9.

But people have been making pre opening ADRs for years upon years. If BoG is the problem, then FIX BOG. Make it a TS for breakfast and charge accordingly. Or leave it as a CS, but enforce the prix fix for everyone who walks in. This new thing is NOT the solution.

AND if the park still opens at 9:00, that makes the whole thing even more ridiculous. Now you're paying an extra $70 for essentially ONE HOUR? Who is going to do that?

Kenny's post says that the park opens at 9 a.m. and the early morning guests then "lose" their special access to the rides, so I guess that means you need to get those rides out of the way before the park opens. So long as this isn't replacing morning EMH and is going to be offered on days when morning EMH isn't I don't see a particular problem with it. If someone wants to pay $70 for 3 rides and a continental breakfast they can have at it.

However, I do wonder how this impacts folks who have been making pre-opening reservations at BOG so that they can ride 7DMT. I can't imagine they are going to let guests at BOG ride 7DMT when people paid $70 for the "exclusive" opportunity to ride.
