Disney Dream - October 9, 2011 - 4 Nights

Mommyrom's DH checking in Mommyrom has done it all again for us to make this trip fabulous and can't say enough about how much I appreciate all she has done.
We are leaving tomorrow to arrive a day early and hope to meet you all on Sunday. To all who are traveling today and tomorrow may you all have safe travels and come Sunday let the fun begin!!!:yay::woohoo:

:woohoo: Woo Hoo!!!

Just hitting the Florida border (3 1/2 hours later than planned -- due to technical difficulties with the FE Hanger -- really did think we were going to be bringing a plastic grocery bag to hang on the door......) WDW tomorrow and the Luau tomorrow night!!!!! Then we'll see you all Sunday!!!!! :cool1:

Hold the ship til my niece and her family gets there. She was sponsored by make a wish and will be in blue tshirts At the last minute their pvt plane and pilot Maw set up said he wouldn't be able to fly. So they had to drive down last night from chatt tn Brother was exhausted so they had to stop for a few hrs and are headed to the port. Katie is 5 and was born with half of a heart

well my niece made it to the port only to sit there prob all night with the rest of you

First, thank you to everyone who delivered FE gifts to my family! This has to be one of my daughters' favorite parts of the cruise! My DH and I chuckle that we pay thousands of dollars for our kids to "trick or treat" in essence! Still, we really enjoyed seeing the creativity and getting little treats as we wearily made our way back to our staterooms each day/night. So much to do, so little time.

We personally were thrilled that we stayed in port the first night. We have been on rough seas and we compliment the captain for staying in a safe spot. Really, we lost nothing (including our "cookies"). I really enjoyed the uniqueness of staying in port. And, being able to do CC the last day is what we prefer. It really is the icing on the cake and a great way to end the cruise (rather than a crowded day-at-sea ship). Just MHO.

Welcome back all! Thanks for a great Disboard experience!:grouphug:

totally agree about staying in port. Best move that could have happened since the Freedom was crazy and fought 55 nautical wind injuring 8 passengers. Also the 2 tugs had a scary time getting back to shore as well. Better safe than sorry for all I think!
packing was more stressful than before due to the switching of castaway Cay but at least we got there :)
Kudos to capt. Gus!!!

We also had a wonderful time! First cruise for us so it was a great experience. We were not a part of the FE but we did enjoy looking at everyone's FE holders and door decorations as we walked past! There were some DISers down our hall as I recognized some of your holders!

We had such a wonderful time onboard the Dream that we booked another Disney cruise for 2012. We haven't told our daughter yet, but she's going to be thrilled about it when we surprise her with it sometime next year.

I had no idea how much we would enjoy the FE exchange. I'm so glad I agreed to the madness up front because the pay off was huge. My daughter was tickled beyond belief to get presents each time we returned to our state room. I particularly loved the regional items, the pirate booty, the handmade gifts, and the Christmas ornaments!

Disers Rock!

I just want to say thank you to everyone who participated in the FE exchange. We loved each and every single gift and was blown away by the creativity and generosity of our fellow DISers.

I did not have a "From" tag on my gift, but I am the one who gave the red Mickey head ornaments. I hope you all enjoy them and can find a special place on your tree or in your home when Christmas rolls around.

Back home at 4:30 AM on Sunday. Slept most of the day.
Not going back to reality (work) until tomorrow. :surfweb:
Sorry we did not make the Meet and Mingle. Got on board later than we had planned. I forgot my camera charger and we had to go purchase one before boarding. :confused3
Sorry we did not get to meet everyone. I hope you all had a great time. I know we did. Wore our wristbands every day and looked for others with wristbands but did not see anyone. Only meet one person from this thread. Saw her while she was delivering FE gifts to Andie and family down the hall. I did enjoy seeing the FE. You all did a great job. I read that some of the FE were stolen on the 3 night cruise following our cruise. Hope everyone was able to make it home with their FE.
So thankful we did not try to leave in the bad weather. :cool1:
Did anyone rebook another cruise? We did not but started looking last night. Next year will probably be a trip to the mountains.
Hope to cruise with you again sometime and actually meet you.

I'm sorry I didn't make it to the Meet & Mingle either. We had a rough start too - forgot camera, fighting the rain to finish up FE gifts, etc. By the time we got settled it was time for dinner. My family had a great time participating in the FE exchange and leaving treats.

I was SO glad that we stayed in port that night. My friend was on the Freedom and this was her and husband's very first cruise. YIKES!

- Confined to stateroom shortly after leaving port
- No dinner was offered (everyone was to stay put)
- Milk & cookies sent. Then around 10-11 p.m. they offered limited room service (they were too sick to eat)
- 12 degree list
- Let's not even talk about the ride :scared1:
- Lots of broken dishes, bottles, etc when he tried to turn the ship into the wind

They had a very good time after they started resuming things and cleaning up. They were terrified that first night and truth be told - as soon as they started pulling out my knees would've been knocking if I was her. She said she'd cruise again, but I don't think she'll trust RCCL to give them another try. I hope she does because I really like RCCL for when I can't cruise Disney. It was a bad call on the captain's part.

Well..... Its over.

Sorry we didnt make the Meet and Mingle either. Like everyone else, bad weather and organizing 13 people took a little more than I anticipated.

Glad we stayed in port the first night. Next morning was rough. Woke up queezy but quickly went up to deck 11 midship and was better. DH didnt fare as well. He took Dramamine and got better but slept all day... in the sun. So the sunburn was humourous as his hands were across his stomach as he slept.

All in all we had a great time.

A big thank you to all our FE friends for all the wonderful gifts, We truley appreciate all of you since we were added so late. We are so sorry that we did not make the meet and greet as we were delivered late to port. We had a wonderful time and will be crusing again, hope to travel with you again. We too are greatful for our night in port as we had a rough first morning. We are looking forward to sailing out of New York to Canada in fall. But, who knows we might have to throw in another short trip. We stayed 4 extra nights in WDW and had fun, but am so greatfull that we left Florida behind as the rain is really taking its toll. Talked to some cruisers after ours who said they had rain everyday and had to do alot of adjusting. We all have so much to be thankful for and for making the right choice to choose Disney. May you all have a blessed holiday season to come and stay healthy and prosperous so that we all may sail agian together soon. Debi
