I just had to share my latest Disney-related purchase with some people who would understand! ;) I'm super excited about these--I just hope they're as comfortable as they are cute! ::yes::

Amazon has them: http://www.amazon.com/Birkis-thongs-Tofino-Birko-Flor-regular/dp/B005OI6EQC

Now j'adore Amazon--seriously, total Amazon addict--however, I actually ended up ordering mine from this place: http://kingashoes.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=2997 Their price is higher, but the Amazon ones actually come from Germany and they said it could be up to 31 days. I just wasn't that patient! Plus I knew it could take a long time if I ended up needing to switch for a different size.

I am very impressed with the Kinga company so far. I ordered mine at 4:35 and had an email updating them as "shipped" at 4:55! Also, they had a code for 15% off, so that helped even things out vs. the Amazon option. Just enter 15% during checkout.

I had never heard of Birki's until I came across the Disney ones. Their information is here: http://www.birki.us/. They have many other adorable Disney styles as well, for women and for children!

They look awfully uncomfortable...like the thong bit would very easily slide off your foot.

For little girls they're very cute but beyond age 10 not so much. Off course I feel the same way about crocs.

I find the part your foot fits on very hard with no cushion/give at all....your foot would have to be formed perfectly for the shoe for it to fit properly.

The whole front part looks like it could end up being painful. How is that going to stay on? The "bows" must be hard because if they were flexible the front of the shoe would fall off every time you walked since there is no strap other than around the ankle. Unless I'm missing something in the picture..I don't see any straps of any kind in the front :confused3

ETA: just clicked on the link...yeah, not looking comfortable at all and at that price..nope, sure not something I would buy no matter how much I liked Disney.

We'll just have to see! The reviews on several sites (mostly European ones that I was not going to attempt to purchase from) were very good. Obviously they aren't a traditional shoe and aren't for everyone! I really hope they work for me--if not, they'll go right back! ;)

Birkenstocks haven't been around this long for no reason. ;) The footbeds are designed to provide proper arch and other support and they mold to your foot over time. Birkenstocks are super comfortable; sometimes they have to be broken in a bit but... they've sold that many at those prices for that long for a reason, ya know.

We'll just have to disagree. I don't see anything remotely comfortable about the top of those birkis. Looks like they will be cutting into skin and looks like they would be hard to keep on the front of the foot if they are soft enough to be comfy. I know Birkenstocks have been around forever and why, I'm not stupid..just don't think these particular ones look comfortable and I sure don't think they look worth that price.

But of the OP likes them and thinks they are cute that's all the matters.

This is an adult pair, and there are other adult styles, as well. I know the QVC site had a good many and some other sites did, also. There are some really adorable Kermit the Frog ones! :)

I don't think anyone else was actually ordering these, haha, but I wanted to update anyway. The "shipped" email from Kinga was incorrect as they not only haven't shipped, but they are out of stock completely. So, color me not happy!

It is super frustrating that they said they were shipped (to me that means in the box, addressed, in the hands of FedEx/UPS/whoever, and on the way to my front door) when in actuality they didn't even have them! :headache: All that to say--I thoroughly withdraw my recommendation and high praises! Boo to them! :sad2:

I am also having trouble making them understand why I am frustrated. Hello...!? :confused3

Summer Lace at "The Grand" had "Birkenstocks" in stock last year & they were very cute :)

The Op's "Birki's" are cute 2
