Disney Autograph Quilt

Hi all, I am hoping you all might be able to offer some suggestions.
I am not very crafty.

My Mom is a quilter.
Last week I saw pictures online of some Quilts ppl made after getting character autographs.

I showed my Mom some pictures and how I thought a quilt like that would be cool but designing it would take some work....
Collecting all the autographs might take at least a few trips....thats alot of meet and greets! Luckily I have an AP this year.

We didn't discuss it further, but yesterday she presented me with fabric squares, a small clipboard and a fabric pen...LOL
I am going to WDW in 7 days for a week for my birthday.

Do you have any tips or suggestions for getting the signatures on the fabric?
I'm worried I might mess them up. Is it hard for the characters to sign cloth?

Any help or suggestions you can offer would be so greatly appreciated!

My thought would be to get a cross stitch hoop to hold the fabric tight when getting the signatures... but that is just my thought.. I would also just put the fabric in a ziploc bag in case you have rain. Good luck and I hope you will post photos when you complete your quilt.
