Dining Plan and APs

I read that Annual Passholders could now add a package that includes room and dining plan w/out having to purchase tickets. Has anyone done this?

If so, if we book a room with our APs, can we add the dining plan for our whole party, even if one guest is NOT a passholder?

That is correct. And everyone in the room doesn't have to have an AP. In fact, everyone in the room still has to have the same DDP for the entire length of your reservation - it is not related to whether ticket length, AP or whatever, just how many resort nights you have.

You will be booking a ticketless AP package with the dining plan.

You can book an AP ticketless package if any (even if only one) guest in the room has an AP -- an AP holder on the reservation must be present at check-in.

It's the same price correct? No discount?

Correct - no discount. And you can't get free dining w/o buying the minimum tix required either. So no tix for AP holders is just for the paid dining plan, regular prices.

Also, the room needs to be booked at a rack rate or AP discount to book an AP ticketless package. A general public room discount would require purchasing 1+ day passes to add dining.

Depending on the time of year you're going, where you're staying etc you may want to do the math. We have APs (this year is the first time) - for us (2 Adults and one 11 year old aka Disney dining adult) it was a better deal to stay in a value resort with the free dining plan and purchase the 2 day base required tickets (per person). We're saving the tickets for a future trip.

If you're staying in a deluxe hotel the room discount (AP) and paying for dining might be a better deal for you
