Different room prices for 3 nights vs 6 nights

When I try to get a room for 3 nights at the Contemporary on my AP discount, it is $650/night. When I try to book 7 nights, it is $370/night.
Are you allowed to book 7 nights in order to get the lower rate, and then call and cancel 4 of the nights? Or will it kick back to the $650/night rate?

I think the price you see on the website is the average price per night. Cost is probably higher on the weekends. Is the 3 nights over a weekend? That would explain why the higher cost per night. Also, your trip may be staggered over two different "seasons" which would also account for a price difference. If you call a CM can probably give you the breakdown of rate per night.

In addition to @holden’s points, room rates are sometimes based on length of stay. Longer stays can qualify for a lower per-night rate. Usually dropping nights will change your rate, but it depends on the CM you get and what the system will allow them to do. If they aren’t able to override the LOS requirements in the system, you’d get the higher rate for the shorter stay.

ETA: if you’re looking online, you can click on “rate details” beneath the average price per night and it will show you the per night rate breakdown. See below screenshot.

Depends on if your promo requires a minimum stay.
