Did we survive 11 days of DxDP? Upd 3/24 California Grill

Awesome, thanks! It's on our list for our Jan, 2014 trip as thats when we plan to the the DxDP.

DxDP was a lot of fun to try so much variety with our family size, but it was definately a lot of food. Have fun planning all those ADRs!!

Subscribing to your thread! Love the idea of posting pictures and FULL detail reviews on places! Hope you had a great time! I am taking my boyfriend (his first time) in July will definitely use this to show him!!

Welcome!! There are a lot of great dining review threads here on the Dis. I read so many of them in planning our trip. Hope my reviews can help in some way :thumbsup2

Already loving your reviews and eagerly anticipating the rest!

Glad to hear a good review for Coral Reef. I have always wanted to eat there because of the atmosphere but have been scared away by the bad food reviews. I've seen some good reviews lately and am considering adding it to our August lineup for lunch.

Thank you so much for sharing!

I bribe my husband to go to Disney with the food! so far it's worked for me and I think in the process he's falling in love with the magic, he's just reluctant to admit it! ;)

Jumping onboard too! Everything looks delish! I can't wait to see more.....you went to a few places that we're trying for the first time in June.....so I'm excited to see those reviews. Glad you had fun! :goodvibes

My husband is dying to to the DxDP and insists on it for the next trip. I'm looking forward to trying to so many new places vs the regular plan. The only thing I'm nervous about is giving up park time for three meals a day, but we're also going to stay longer so we have more park time overall. Im anticipating our oldest, at 14 when we travel, will eat more the older he gets though. I figure if it doesn't work for our family, at least we've tried it and know better when all is said and done. Having done it, would you do it again for your family?

I haven't done the DxDP yet but am considering it for our 2014 trip. But...instead of doing 3 meals everyday we are thinking of doing a nice breakfast, using our snacks around lunch and then plan for a signature meal in the evening.

I doubt we will follow this routine every single day but it will probably be what we do most days.
I'm sure that by doing this we won't be getting the best value from the DxDP but it will be more along the lines of what we prefer and what our bellies will be able to handle!

Im here too!!! :goodvibes

Cant wait to see your reviews of all these places! Some we went to, some I want to go to!!

I'm in here too! Deluxe Dining Plan - I need to read this based on how many snack credits you had alone!!

Great reviews so far. Thanks so much for sharing!

We will be staying CL in August at the Poly and debated doing DxDP, but decided it was too much food.

Nothing better than "food porn"! Count me in!

We had dinner at Chefs on Dec 14th. It was wonderful! One of our fav places to eat. I would love to see Remy sometime!

I have often thought of doing the DxDDP and eating at signature restaurants every night for dinner as we are all adults and love the sit down restaurants. (We take our grown unmarried daughters with us and sometimes their boyfriends. Maybe another trip with only family we will try just that!) We have done SOA dinner show, LeCellier and Narcoosees, but there are more we'd love to try. Maybe some day.

120 snack credits! Wow!!! The lobster pasta does look rich but good! I need to try Coral Reef again.

Hey, Debbie! NOW I know why you had so many snack credits left at the end of your trip! I was forgetting 2 per day with DxDDP and also how many are in your family!

I'm in! We are doing our first DxDP this year (just 2 adults, so not quite so many snack credits to use up. We are going to some of the same places, so love to see your pics!

Welcome, and thank you! :wave2:

We were pleasantly suprised with Coral Reef...other than DD's chicken :rolleyes2 The atmosphere is so pretty too. Hopefully if you do decide to add it for August, it will not disappoint.

Hey, whatever gets him to go to Disney with you I say :thumbsup2 Disney food is pretty darn awesome!!

I'm definately glad we tried it once for sure. We were able to try a lot of restraunts and a lot of different food. It wasnt such a big deal with giving up park time since we were there 11 days, but it was SOOOO much food. I felt like we were eating all the time! I'm not sure I would do it again with the kids, but perhaps if DH and I were going by ourselves, maybe so. Dont be afraid to pass on apps (or just get a copule to share) and same with dessert. DH and I passed on dessert several times. Might not have been the best value all the time, but we were so stuffed after 3 meals per day. I say try it once and see how you like it.

If you do DxDP next year, your plan sounds like the way to go! My older kids didnt seem to "excited" about most of the signature restraunt menus, so we picked the ones they would be most likely to enjoy. 3 meals a day was TOUGH!!

Im here too!!! :goodvibes

Welcome Val!! Nice to have you following along :wave2:

Welcome! :wave2: Ugh, all those snacks! At the time it sounded great, but as you will see...we didnt get to utilize them too well.

Great reviews so far. Thanks so much for sharing!

Thank you!

I can firmly say CL & DxDP = TOO MUCH FOOD in our opinion! We really did not utilize the CL much at all. We are staying CL again in Oct, but this time around just doing the regular dining plan. I dont even know what the CL served at BW for breakfast or evening desserts :lmao:

Welcome!!

DxDP and signature restraunts sounds like the way to go! I had to be very choosey about which signature restraunts I felt the older kids would enjoy. Narcoossee's is one I definately want to try...Citricos...Brown Derby...Flying Fish...Jiko, none of which I felt the kids would enjoy, so one day. It would be so much easier to do in your situation with older daughters.

And Remy is super cute! Hope you can see him one day :thumbsup2

So good, but SOOOOOOOOOOO rich! Maybe a smaller portion?

Hey, Debbie! NOW I know why you had so many snack credits left at the end of your trip! I was forgetting 2 per day with DxDDP and also how many are in your family!

:thumbsup2 Yes, 2 per day with DxDP. We were buying water with snack credits to help use them up!

I'm in! We are doing our first DxDP this year (just 2 adults, so not quite so many snack credits to use up. We are going to some of the same places, so love to see your pics!

Welcome!! I hope you enjoy DxDP ;)

Thanks for the honest review of Coral Reef. Sorry about the chicken dish. I haven't heard great things about it, and never order it. Usually I like to stick with the seafood or steak. The Chocolate Wave is the best dessert though!

I'm in, we are doing double deluxe in Sept for 7 nights, there will be 5 of us so I can't wait to see how you did it with so much food. :)

I'm here too! It's great to see a mostly positive review of Coral Reef, and I can't wait to read more (even if I don't have time to comment often :upsidedow).

Subscribing! I'm debating upgrading to the DxDP for our trip in December '13 and I just can't decide! Hopefully this helps me make up my mind :)
