Did anyone watch "Hoarders" last night (on A&E)???

I watch this show sporadically, as well as the other hoarding show.

Last night I DVRed it, and am watching it now in between folding laundry. (Those shows are great house-cleaning motivators! LOL).

Anyway... last night's episode was so over the top disgusting that I wonder if it was real, or a set-up to be a "shocking" episode? As if the usual houses aren't bad enough. :crazy2:

But the degree of the filth that the first woman lived in, just seems impossible for anyone to survive there for any length of time without coming down with a serious illness.

And if it is indeed real, then someone like that (IMHO) should be gently escorted out of the house and brought to an assisted-living facility for people with severe mental illness. When someone says "I've been eating poop for 12 years", they are a harm to themselves. (I'm going to throw up now. :faint: ).

I watch the one on TLC every now and then. Mostly when I want to be inspired to clean out my closets :-)thumbsup2)

The one when they found their dead cat did me in! I just can't imagine! I would have needed to be escorted into assisted living if I found the remains of my cat under my clutter.

Both of mine are accounted for, thank goodness!

OMG when they find the remains of those poor cats it totally freaks me out! In fact, the very first time that I ever saw an episode where they found a cat skeleton under some furniture and the poor dead cats always look so flattend out!!!), I had made a roasted chicken for dinner. After watching the show I went to the kitchen to finish cleaning up from dinner, and when I saw the carcass of the chicken that we had, it reminded me so much of the cat carcass that I had to ask DH to come and throw it out. :scared:

Now, I *immediately* wrap up and throw out the chicken bones when I make chicken for dinner, because I can't stand the site of the carcass sitting there in the pan for even an extra minute! :crazy2:

In the case of the feces hoarder I thought they did basically determine she was not not cognitively able to live on her own and needed assisted living and some major help. She was told she could not live on her own anymore and the impression I got was they were trying to find resources to get her assisted living/mental help. Clearly something was not right in her brain...more beyond the obvious hoarder mental illness part.

I just watched the end, and was so glad that she will not be left alone to her own devices. Bulldozing that house is their best option.

I always think ewww, but ITA last night's was especially horrific. When the lady dipped the feces out of the big bucket to put in the smaller tub to walk through the hoard to throw it out in the front yard...*gag* there are no words... :crazy2:

At least she is out of that disaster. I wonder how they control the hoarder urges at their new living situations - though I do remember one lady who kept a nice clean condo while her house was a hording mess, so I guess it can be done.

I would occasionally watch this show but I eventually had to stop. Unfortunately I did see the episode where they found the dead cat in the house.

EWWWWWW!!!!!!! I wasn't aware of this episode.

I can't even deal with the dead animals (cats, mice, etc.) I'll probably watch 5 minutes of this one before I am completely grossed out.

I want to go home and scrub down my bathroom!

It was bad..bad bad bad. I will not go into details because it was so nasty but she did indicate she seemed to get a rush/high from handling her own waste, not washing her hands and eating. :crazy2:

Oh my gosh, that is the worst house I have ever seen. :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

I've reached the point where I don't believe *any* of these reality shows are "reality."

:crazy2:

I haven't seen it in a while. My kids get grossed out.

This show just makes me want to clean my home. I like to watch these types of shows every once in a while as inspiration to KEEP it clean.

That was the worst one ever! She was definitely messed up in the head, possibly from horrific sexual abuse according to some classes I have taken in the past. Just a thought. whatever though ewwwww just so gross.
