Another question - if you are having an Epcot Park reception such as Living Seas or American Rutonda (I can't spell) and it starts at like 4p ends at like 8:00pm or so. (hypotheticaly this is)

Could your guests walk on over to the dessert party location in the World Showcase at the end of your reception? Is this possible?

Thanks!

According to my coordinator the guests have to be escorted from one location to the other. They don't like party guests wandering around the park even if they have their own ticket.
Not sure if this is the general policy but that's what she told me.
Hope this helps! :)

But even though they have to be escorted, they can do this. Several brides have followed their American Adventure weddings with dessert parties - it's a great idea! :thumbsup2

I was expecting an answer like that from Disney... :headache:

So if you were to do this ... how would your guests get from the reception to the Dessert Party then?

Hiya,

We are having our reception at American Adventure Parlour Room and then moving over to UK lower for our dessert party. We have to pay for a guide for both locations and they escort you whilst you're at Epcot. We are planning to walk over from America to Uk and we haven't been told that we can't. But we only have a small party I'm unsure what the procedure is for a large party but I'm sure there wouldn't be any problems. You just can't wander around the park on your own in your wedding dress so you will have to be escorted.
Hope this helps
xx

Ok you got your post up like 2 seconds before me :goodvibes

So You can do it then... I really like it as a way to cap off the day but not have a ton of open time....

I'm rethinking Epcot as an location because of the morning requirement... I'm really not morning person.. it was actually your pj that got me thinking wow guests have to be at 7:20am:eek: oh crap if I'm the bride what time do I have to get up:scared1:

So I'm thinking beach ceremony, Living seas reception, dessert party at a place in Epcot.. not sure where...

Can you do it only for Rotunda or for LS too?

You can do it! There have been several large weddings that did this - you just are escorted, that's all... :goodvibes

Whoopdedo - How many do you have?

We are at a guest list right now of 54 and definitely don't think everyone will show up.

:rotfl:

You can do it for any location in Epcot. You can even walk in from the International Gateway if you have your reception someplace within walking distance. Like Shipwreck Beach....

You're lucky - I would have loved to have our dessert party directly following our reception. On the other hand, the gap will give me time to get hungry enough to eat all those desserts! :cutie:

There's only 15 of us including me and DF. Just family and 2 close friends each. I'm from the UK so I'm finding it really difficult to get everything sorted cause I'm not having a planning session. Even though there's so few of us trying to organise eveyone is so hard and I feel like I can never please them so I've stopped telling them what the plans are. Sorry needed to vent!

Thank god for this forum! :cool1:

or sleep in the time gap.. that's what I've been planning:rotfl:

Where is Ship wreck beach? I've definitely heard about it before but now I can't get any info on it

Ease of the day is definitely up there on priorites so I'm thinking even though Germany would be really nice, I might enjoy sleeping in more

shipwreck beach is the beach area right next to the beach club resort. Across the water is the Boardwalk resort.

Ok from my 2 minute research on Allears it sounds like Shipwreck beach is part of Stormalong bay as a water slide or the entrace - isn't that a swimming pool for beach club resort?

Am I thinking of these correctly?:confused3

Yes, but the beach part is across the walkway from the pool part and directly on the water. They show movies there in the summer, and people have thrown parties there. It's neat!

It would save so much money if we can have everyone work from the LSS to our dessert party (I'm presuming - how much is the escort fee? ;))

At the moment I can't decide what time to do our ceremony.
I originally wanted the 2.30pm so that after the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception we could just go straight to the dessert party, but the minimum food and bev expenditure at the LSS for ceremonies before 2pm is $1,900 and after is $3,500!
We then decided to have a 10am ceremony with a gap between the reception and dessert party, just so we don't have to spend that much money at the LSS!
However, I'm thinking that we might end up around the $3,000 mark anyway, so it might be better to add some extras to meet the higher minimum and have the day flow as one as originally planned (and not have to get up as early and have such a long day :thumbsup2)
Gonna be over the overall minimum by a fair wack though I think :sad1:
Sorry to go off topic there a bit, just wondered if anyone had any good advice?

I just wanted to mention that as far as I know, you can not have an American Adventure Rotunda reception that early in the day as they will not close it off to park guests. You must start at like 9pm (or something like that) and you must have 100 guests or more. HTH :goodvibes

I had my reception in AAP and a dp in UK lower. I had the options to walk to the site with the escort or to take the shuttle. I had several guests that are older and don't walk as well, so we all took the shuttle to the dp. I would look into how far it is you have to walk. It might be difficult for some guests to walk from LLS to the Italy Isola.
