So I know as we get closer to Dec many who have never been down there have no clue what to wear in Florida. So I thought I would share two photos from a few years ago that would help. First photo is Dec 9, 2011 at 7 am in the morning in Jacksonville FL waiting for our spouses to arrive from deployment....the second photo is from Dec 25th 2011 Christmas night on my porch in my house in FL. So it can very drastically.

Thank you. I'm planning on packing a little of everything, with a main focus on jeans and tees and layers. I'm also taking note of how my family is dressing now, with highs in the low 70s, to determine what they will likely be comfortable in IF the temps are close to normal for our early Dec trip.

Your pictures made me smile. I was in Florida the first week of Dec. 2010 during the strange freaky cold freezing weather.

I remember having to pull everything out of my suitcase the night before leaving and repacking with clothes for the cold weather because I'd packed only shorts and t-shirts. I was very happy I'd checked the weather before I'd left to drive to Disney.

pack in layers. I have always enjoyed a nice 70 degree weather during the first part of December. Being from the north that is hot to us.

I will say it was horrible to put an outfit together for the homecoming cause I had the great dress and I had to add tights to the dress and i felt horrible. When my husband got off the boat I said lets grab a photo and after that ran for the car almost cause of how cold it was and we had to wait outside for 2 hours in the wind and cold. Come that christmas night it was just nice to be warm.

We were there Dec 9-17, 2014, and it was COLD! Only our last two days did we get into the 60's and low 70's. Thank goodness we knew to pack a little bit of everything, including extra blankets to cover with while waiting for parades. It was really, really chilly. And I live outside Denver so I know cold! But the damp cold was not something I am used to.

Having been each December for 10 years I can happily assure you that the weather can be ANYTHING! One year we had low 90's and went to a water park. Another year (2010) it never got above 55 and was a miserable, damp cold with lots of rain.

Don't even try to pack until 2 days before your trip and check the weather forecast AGAIN. Pack in layers and don't forget ear covering/hats/gloves.

Florida weather is always crazy, I've lived here for 25 years so I've gotten used to it. Each winter is never the same as the year before. One Christmas it was freezing the next I was in a t-shirt opening presents. So be prepared for anything :), sometimes its even snowed.

I was there once and it was warm enough to swim during Christmas, another time it was freezing and we needed winter coats. You never know. Bring options for all types of weather.

(Once in Miami it was so cold my mom had to Fed Ex us our winter coats)

We were there also, we brought "cold weather gear" but we could have brought warmer clothes... we will be bringing everything this December.
