DCL transportation

We are staying at universal a few day prior to our cruise. We want to take DCL transportation so we get on the ship early. Would we just have to Uber back to MCO to get the bus. Do I need to let DCL know what time we will be coming? Does anyone have info on this? Thanks

You could probably get to the ship earlier if you just take a taxi or rideshare service directly to the port from Universal. No?

We boarded last Friday and used DCL transportation. Getting to MCO is however it is easiest and cost effective for you. They open the cruise transportation desk between 8 and 8:30. We are the first group at the check in area at 7:55. We were on the first bus and left about 9:30 with 19 people total on the bus. One resort bus was already there. We got tested and waited 40 minutes for the results and were cleared to go into the terminal. There were maybe 20 people already inside. We had been assigned boarding group 7 at check in but when we checked in at the terminal we were placed in group 1. On the ship by 11:30.

This may have been true in the past, especially with transfers from the resorts. But, currently the Disney buses are arriving earlier than any of the PATs available if you drive yourself or use outside transportation.

That's true for DCL buses from the resorts and from the Hyatt. But I don't know if it's true for DCL buses from MCO. Is it? And does DCL require you to have a PAT when you take the DCL bus directly from MCO? I know that some DCL transportation guests still have a PAT and I figured it was the MCO folks since the Hyatt and Disney resorts don't.

The busses from MCO and from the Hyatt are one and the same. When you stay at the Hyatt, you leave the hotel and go down to the lower level of Terminal B, like guests coming off the planes.

That didn't seem true when I took the bus from the Hyatt. We were escorted directly to the bus, which wasn't near the other Magic Express and DCL buses.

Regardless, though, Disney decides who gets on which bus. I don't know when they start letting MCO guests onto the bus, so that's why I asked.

It is possible if they had enough people staying at the Hyatt that they would put you all on a bus together. I think that makes sense. The regular MCO buses get started around 9. It used to be that the buses from the resorts did not start until after 10:30, but those are running earlier also.

You do not need to select a PAT if using Disney transfers.
