Who's there?: Ron (DH-38), Eryn (DD - 18), and me (37).
Park(s): None! We resort-hopped & did Cirque du Soleil
Date: December 30

We slept in this morning, which, despite our big plans, turned out to be 8:30! We kinda dinked around, getting ready. I called for a last minute PS for Spoodles, so we took off. Our plan for the morning was to see as many resort decorations as possible, and maybe make a decision about where we want to stay next time we come. :D

Spoodles was great!! I really liked the breakfast pizza - yummy. Ron, however, being the meat and potatoes bland kind of guy, thought this was his least favorite breakfast. The eggs were even "different" in his eyes (being a frittata)! I highly recommend Spoodles, as does Eryn.

We decided to start exploring at Boardwalk. Ron is a pool guy, so at each resort, after viewing the lobby decorations, we went to the pool area. We did five Boardwald resorts: Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan, and Dolphin. I think next time, if I can afford it, we should stay in the Yacht or Beach Club. The pool is simply fabulous. Ron actually stood and watched them create the false sand bottom while Eryn and I explored the lobbies for almost 40 minutes!! He was fascinated.

Our next stop was the Wilderness Lodge. This was Ron's first choice. And, it is my favorite resort overall, due to its phenomenal theming. It is so beautiful!! I guess if I had my choice, I would do half Beach Club, half Wilderness Lodge.

Then we went across to Grand Floridian, and this resort gets my vote for Christmas decorations, although Ron said he will NEVER stay here. He thinks it is too snooty. The tree was gorgeous - it had displays of little victorian houses and big mirrors with greenery on the different branches. The full-size gingerbread house is something to see, too!

So, our resort decision made (half Beach Club/half Wilderness Lodge - I like the proximity to Epcot at the Beach Club, but the Wilderness Lodge is just so beautiful. And of course, Ron loves both pools...), we made a quick run to the new Premium Outlet Mall. We found it!! (Still did some searching, since the directions I had downloaded had an error.) I got some great Disney stuff (a Sorcerer's Apprentice halloween costume for next year - hooray!), and a few other items. The we headed to Portobello Yacht Club for a late lunch/early dinner. Lunch was delicious. Eryn and I shared a seafood pasta and a spinach pizza. Ron had Chicken Parmesan, which wasn't on the menu, but the waiter said he could get it for him.

After our meal, it was finally time for an event I had been waiting for years to see: Cirque du Soleil. It was fantastic. It is sooo artsy, and creative, and bizarre, and funny... I liked it best of the three of us. Everyone was satisfied, and felt we got a show worth the very pricey tickets.
We went to bed, feeling rested, and having had a productive day.

Tomorrow: Up early to secure our spot in Epcot, for a marathon 17 hour day.

I'm so glad you enjoyed Cirque du Soleil. Everyone that goes seems to enjoy it. My favorite is the Wilderness Lodge too. The theming is great there.

It is hard to decide where to stay. Each one has it's own special charm. :)

I loved Cirque too. My dd and I were mesmerized for the entire show.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. :)
