Cruising on points....upgrade with cash>?

We are cruising on the 4 night in nov in a Cat 8, all on points. If I wanted to upgrade to a room with a verandah at check in(assuming there was one available) could I do this with cash? Does anyone have any idea how much it might be? Thanks

I was able to upgrade a room booked with points at the port. they will only take cash for upgrades at the port. What you will do is check in like normal. After you have your boarding documents, ask the CM which desk to go to purchase an upgrade. They do not inquire how you booked you room, everyone pays the same rate to upgrade.

Doe anyone know how much DCL charges for the upgrades? I'm sure the prices vary largely depending on what cat you started in and are moving up to, but for example Deb's situation -- from cat 8 up to a veranda?
