Cool discoveries made when your ride vehicle has stopped . . .

I was stuck on HM in the graveyard scene for about 20 mins and got to walkto the exit from it...the cm's even let us "pose" for pictures with the ghosts etc on the way out :)

Behind part of the doom buggy track on HM is an area that is used for storage. Guests would not see this except in an evacuation, where they actually had to leave the ride vehicles and walk out.

I saw this area, or maybe one of them. We got stuck in the ballroom scene of HM for a really long time. First, all the effects and music stayed on and we got a really good view of the whole room (and an annoying announcement from our Ghost Host every 30 seconds or so about staying in our seat, the spirits are causing trouble, etc). Then the music went off but the effects were still on. Eventually, the lights went on and we had to evacuate. Behind our doom buggies, there was a storage area a little below our level. We had to walk back through the entire ride.

Yes, a cool one to be stuck on. No, not a cool one to evacuate. I did my best to look at my feet as we walked back to the entrance. Didn't want the illusion ruined.

We got stuck on the part of ToT where you're looking down the hallway at the pairs of shoes next to the doors. I was CONVINCED that we were going to see a ghost walk across! It was my boyfriends first time on the ride and he kept asking me when we were going to fall :rotfl:

Also, we were once online for EE and just as we were the next people to step on the ride. The cast member told us that the ride had to be shut down. When we left we saw a car full of people stuck on the main track that goes up to the top of the mountain in the dark! :scared1:

My ultimate Disney dream is to get stopped in the attic on the Haunted Mansion. It is my favorite ride and we ride it many times each trip. I always am wishing the ride would slow or stop while we are in the attic because there is just so much to see!

That happened to me! It was great.

Now THAT would be AWESOME!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I've never had to be evacuated off a ride, merely delayed. Loved me delayed in HM in a reclined position. :D I was also delayed in Buzz Lightyear and racked up tons of points. I do also believe I was delayed on Pooh and Peter Pan by the same person, who was in a wheelchair. Wish I could have thanked her for being delayed right by the moon in London. I love looking down on London, it's my favorite part of that ride. :goodvibes

I discovered how quickly I can make up a non-scary version of what's happening in HM when I got stuck with my 4 year old on her first ride ever...between rooms...in the dark. We made it through with minimal tears.

Where the bride is? We were stuck between the 1 and second husband for about 5 minutes in July. It was the first time we had been on the ride in 15 years so we got a good look around.

We were stuck on iasw 15 years ago just after an accident made national headlines. After 10 minutes they turned off the music but the dolls continued to move and clack for another 10. :shudder: I'll never forget it!! lol

I always seem to be sitting in the last room of IASW in a long line of boats. I do actually enjoy this wait at the end of PotC. Lots of detail to see.

I was stuck in TOT right after all the guests in your car dissapear. The lights went out, the sound went out, everything... DEAD SILENT, PITCH BLACK.

I thought to myself, you are now in an actual broken elevator, that's pretending to be a broken elevator...

Then I started thinking about that new M. Night movie about the elevator and was really creeped out.

Finally, the cast member came on and said not to get up and that they could see us...

It took them about 5 minutes to have the elevator lowered back to the entrance.

So, why did this all happen... some college kid managed to undo his seat belt. He had somehow tricked the sensor and they saw it.

OMG

I was stuck on an elevator, alone, for almost an hour, between the 3rd and 4th floor at my work this past June. If I was in this situation, I'd probably die.

Back in June I got stuck in various parts of Dinosaur for maybe 5-10 minutes at a time. It was fun to see the animatronics with the lights on although it did sort of ruin the illusion. It used to be such a scary ride before. We ended up having to be walked off the ride although we were pretty near the unloading platform.

In August when we went, I was on a HM kick and rode it three times in a row. The first time was fine, the second time I got stuck at the hitchhiking ghosts part and was joking of how it would suck to be stuck in the graveyard. Well, fate loves to be tempted and the next time I was stuck next to one of the pop-up guys for like 5 minutes. It go SO ANNOYING. :rotfl:

I have been pulled off two rides.

The first one was Test Track. We were stuck in between the hot zone and the corrosion zone. Luckily for us they turned off the effects and we didn't suffer through the heat. They came car by car to escort people off the ride.

The second one was on Universe of Energy. We had just gotten out of the dinosaur scenes and was looking that the radio tower. The show kept on playing but the vehicles did not turn to see the screen. Then the last came on and the CM that was stationed in the room came on the PA and told us to stay seated and that they are coming to get us off.

I thought getting stuck on Splash Mountain for a half hour was bad. "How do you do, mighty glad to meet ya......" But Carousel of Progress? Ugh. I was hearing, "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow" for days after riding it just once.

I do believe, however, that I am one of the few people who can say they injured their back on their honeymoon, ON A RIDE AT DISNEY WORLD. To this day no one believes me ("SURE YA DID." WINK WINK.) When Splash Mountain finally got moving again, I had turned kind of sideways...when that boat hit bottom...I felt something snap. Tear to the left trapezius muscle. Way to end a honeymoon. LOL.

I think this made me laugh more than it should have.

I discovered that you really get tired of Madame Leotta asking the spirits to ring the bell when you stuck with her for 20 minutes! Ugh that was bad.
UGH yes! We weren't stuck for that long, but it did get really old. But later we got stuck in the ballroom for even longer and it gave us tons of time to take in everything so they made it up to us.

The only other ride We've gotten stuck on was Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in the area where it's sort of like you're in a tunnel and the targets are spinning around you. (Hopefully you know what I mean.) DH took the opportunity to get a bunch of points, while I just sat there.

You reminded me of a time we were on this ride when it was shut down, or at least evacuated. We were at the end of the ride when the lights came on. Our car was brought to the disembarking station, and I could see they were no longer loading guests. They had cleared out the folks waiting to board. I don't recall seeing much else.

Another time - not a brekadown -during the YoMD we got lanyards in the hallway outside the postshow of Dinosaur. That was kind of a cool area to get a dream.

We were stopped in the same spot of Peter Pan for about 5 minutes last week. It is a nice spot to look around, but when your "ship" gets moving again, it's quite jerky! :rotfl:

We were on Splash Mountain and the ride broke down just after our log went down the big hill. There was a traffic jam of logs at the bottom. We only had to wait a couple of minutes before a cast member came to evacuate us. There's a path right next to the water that we had to walk on, through the rest of the ride. Since we were the in the last log, we took our time and took our picture with everything on the way out. Once we got outside security was there to make sure everyone behaved backstage.
