Probably looking to eat here before our pirates voyage...
What do you recommend???

Either Chef Mickey's--a little pricey but fun---or the Contempo Cafe. The cafe is counter service but you can see the monorail as it goes through the building.
The California Grill--which is soooo yummy---- is currently closed until this summer.
I wouldn't limit your options to The Contemporary. Since it's on the monorail loop you could easily book something at The Poly or GF.
I would probably recommend Kona Cafe @ The Poly for a sit down meal.
Last time we were at CM we found the quality of food very poor, the restaurant was unclean, food everywhere all over the floor. It was just not up to par for Disney.
If you are looking for quick service, I think Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary is great! They've got a great flatbread! Their sandwiches and salads are also quite good.
depends when you are going, Cali grill doesn't close for couple of weeks. We love it We also like Contempo Cafe for quick service. chef Mickey's is always a must do for the characters to the food!
Chef Mickey is our favorite... more for the interaction vs the food.
We ate the Wave last year.. our food was good, but the desserts were disappointing.
