Construction between Pooh and Toontown

We were last in the parks in early April and I did not notice anything going on then but ds who is in the MK today just texted that there is construction behind Hundred Acre Wood and the link to Toontown. Does anyone know what the plans are? He is a former CM so will probably be able to give me an answer before the day is out.

a friend that is a CM told me that the backstage area there is being used as a staging/"pre-construction" area for the work that is being done on the Liberty Square bridge.
