Confessions of a reluctant runner, a DL 1/2 & PHM PTR. 7/5 race recaps and final thoughts

In exciting news though, (well to me anyway) I did finally go to the doctor a week ago and they put me on a totally different rx and regiment for my skin allergy issues. The new stuff works SOOOOOOOOO much better! My skin is NOT on fire!
Great news! I'm glad you're getting some help!

My parents sold their house! THANK GOODNESS! This has been a LOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGG saga that started back in July with an injury to my fathers knees. I have spent, as have my kids and siblings, most of the fall helping get them moved and dealing with 37 years of stuff . The sheer volume has been mind boggling. Selling is very very good news on pretty much every level. However, it was pretty short notice.
I know that had been a somewhat stressful situation for you, so I'm glad to see there's been some resolution to it.

Speaking of work trips, lest you all think they are super glamorous based on those Vegas pictures…check this out. This is how I roll, solo.

Yep. Glamorous! The red bag is mine, the rest...all work stuff.
Geeze... that's a lot of crap to have to haul around.

When my mom brought the boys back, she brought me a valentine. Well actually she brought all kinds of stuff from the house for me but this was a surprise and a huge treat.
That's awesome! I'm sure it means a lot to you for a lot of reasons.

Bubbles! (and no, I didn't notice them at the time either!)
:lmao:

Do you think I will notice if there are characters at the finish line this time? :rotfl:
Of course not. :rotfl2:

I am fairly sure I have a sinus infection. My amazing doc was willing to call in an Rx so hopefully that kicks in by tomorrow or it could be a rough flight. I should be fine for the race though
Yuck. Hopefully the medicine helps you out. Bad timing for it though. :faint:

What an awesome view of the Strip from your room! Last year was my first visit ever to Vegas and we had fun, except I got sick (not from drinking!) I believe from all the smoke. Terrible. And noooow, I get to probably do that again in April. DH has been dying to go back since last year and even tried scheduling a trip this past October and I did my darndest to push it until this Spring. Hopefully this time around it won't be so bad for me.

GOOD LUCK!!! :cool1::cool1: I was watching GMA this morning about it being really cold in Orlando this week and thought of all you girls, but hopefully it will still be warm enough on Sunday for you all :goodvibes

Hope you've had a brilliant day. Did you hear the announcement, will you be coming to Paris next year to run through your 3rd castle?

Yay!! So glad everything has come together for you. Congrats on selling your parents house! That must be a huge relief, although getting out quickly is never fun. I have so many friends moving right now, which is weird because it never happens in the winter here. However it works for me as one of my Marathon fundraisers is a clothing drive and people are more than willing to purge all their unwanted items. My guest room looks like a recycling center!

I THINK I know what your costumes are! Love the colors! So exciting you are so close to running through the castle! I go back and forth on my feelings of it. I was looking at my medal wall last night and just got sad I won't have a new shiny medal on Sunday morning. I may get out to watch the race, but similar to how Anne's husband felt, it may be too hard. I think I am going to sign up for Avengers though in November. My foot should be healed completely by then! I also think I am going to pick up my number, it was too late to defer and I want my t-shirt. I paid $120 for it! Plus I want to buy some of those no rise running shorts for the Marathon.

I am however looking forward to leaving Boston for a few days. My patio in inaccessible, I can no longer find my patio furniture or grill, I have some ice dams forming on my roof, and my gas vent, which is 5.5 feet off the ground has had to be dug out twice! I have to hang out the window to do it since the snow bank makes it impossible to get to it! I did get two new puppies last week so I will miss being able to take them this weekend, but I need to get out of here lol.

Looking forward to trying to meet up with you guys Sunday night!

It was SO much fun seeing you, we had a great time and other than the whole foot scooter thing, you looked amazing! Your snow pictures were insane. Your puppies are adorable. Did you get shorts at the expo?

Have fun storming the castle! And good luck with the race!

Thanks, I did! Especially the storming the castle part. It's funny, both races (DL versus WDW) have things I like better about each but the WDW castle wins for sure.

Great news! I'm glad you're getting some help!

I know that had been a somewhat stressful situation for you, so I'm glad to see there's been some resolution to it.

It has been stressful. It's a bit sad as they had a goodbye party there while I was in FL but I am relieved that hopefully we can ll move on.

Geeze... that's a lot of crap to have to haul around.

Glamorous huh

Of course not. :rotfl2:

There is something WRONG with me! Everyone tells me they were there but 1) they do not show in my live feed, 2) I did NOT see them and trust me I deliberately trie dto look and 3) they don't show in a single picture so far.

There is a gap in the audio. They announce all kinds of folks before me and after (not just me but other runners who crossed when I did) which makes me wonder if there was a character change at that time? That doesn't really make sense though as they wouldn't have been out so long to need a change. Allegedly there were FOUR characters there.

Yuck. Hopefully the medicine helps you out. Bad timing for it though. :faint:

It definitely helped, very glad I got it.

Have a great trip and a fantastic race!

Thanks! I did. On the way home now, BOO!

Have a great run!! And a lot of fun as well!

Thanks, we had a blast and I think have an official runDisney convert in Mary Ellen.

Safe travels and have fun running through the castle! :wave2:

Thanks Karin!

I avoid the casino's as much as possible for that reason, stick to the pool and the restaurants and it is much better lol!

GOOD LUCK!!! :cool1::cool1: I was watching GMA this morning about it being really cold in Orlando this week and thought of all you girls, but hopefully it will still be warm enough on Sunday for you all :goodvibes

It was VERY VERY cold on Thursday and Friday but absolutely lovely for the race. YAY!

Safe flight and enjoy your fun run!

Thanks, I did!

Have a wonderful trip and lots of fun!!! :)

Congrats on your parents house selling!

Thanks Pam!

Have a great trip!!!

Thanks!

I hoped you have a great run through The castle!

Thank you, I did!

Hope you've had a brilliant day. Did you hear the announcement, will you be coming to Paris next year to run through your 3rd castle?

I did have a good day, thank you!
Ah when you put it that way, it is tempting! My wallet doesn't agree though so no, most likely not.

I"m glad you had a good time! I'm about ready for another trip and I don't mean to go visit my parents, which is next on the list!

I'm about ready for another trip (and I'm still on the plane lol) and I don't mean for work...which is next on my list...twice!

LOL

Excellent news! Hope you had a safe trip home.

We did have a safe trip home, thank you. Odd flight, lots of turbulence the first hour or so, which made for good napping flying but then for whatever reason the flight seemed to take forever to get home. I was very happy to see my bed. Uneventful though, just seemed long.

I hope you got home safely, can't wait to hear all about it :)

Home safe and sound and looking forward to a largely unscheduled weekend to deal with my train wreck of a house and start getting caught up around here.

I do have to go deal with shoes today though (spoiler alert) so that I can run this weekend, haven't done a thing since the half!

Hope you had a good journey home. Ignore your wallet it knows nothing!

LOL! So funny, the kids were asking me yesterday if I was going to "tag along" on their Ireland trip next year. Um, I'd love to but my wallet knows it's not an option.

And then they followed that up with "so I assume there is no Disney trip next year, right?"

Uh, yeah...because you are going to Ireland you dopes! I can only wish I could pull all that off. But hey, my points will recover. Still, it is a bit anxiety inducing to know I do not have a future WDW trip scheduled at all.

Welcome Home!!! Glad your trip home was pretty uneventful. Ours was just Looooong.

It was great seeing you and yes the trips are NEVER long enough.
