Nine Dragons



First a menu pic...

Kerri said, "This is one of our favorite restaurants in all of WDW. The food is always hot and fresh and the service is great!!!"

South Sea Breeze
Coconut rum, grenadine, pineapple and orange juices



"I treated myself to a lovely cocktail....I neglected to write it down (bad girl)...but I know it had the word "breeze" in it's name.
I would order it again, too! That much I know!"

"For our apps we chose the veggie egg rolls and the potstickers. The veggie egg rolls aren't on the regular menu, they are on the prix fixe dinner set menu...but you can still order them. They come with a plum chili dipping sauce. I could eat a million of these. The wrapper is so thin and crispy. The veggies are cut so delicately. And that dipping sauce is crazy good! The potstickers are quite good as well. They are accompanied with a soy based sauce. I'm not a huge soy fan so I just dip my potstickers in the chili plum sauce!"

"For mains we ordered the honey sesame chicken and another round of veggie egg rolls and potstickers. The honey sesame chicken is my favorite. It comes with white rice and jicama slaw. So fab! Some folks might think it's too sweet but it's right up my alley."



"We passed on dessert. Although we've had the ginger cake before and it is very tasty!"

Good morning everyone!

How about some updates?

Let's begin with a lunch update from superchime.


She and her family were at Magic Kingdom on Friday and had lunch at...

First a menu pic...

And here is what they chose...

Vegetarian Burger - House-made Potato Quinoa Vegan Patty topped with a fresh Vegan Tofu-Tzatziki sauce with sweet potatoes fries



"I had my second veggie burger of the trip. This one was great, potatoes and quinoa. Very different."

New England Pot Roast... Our Tavern Keeper's Favorite - braised beef in a cabernet wine and mushroom sauce served with mashed potatoes and garden vegetables


"DH loved the pot roast, but wouldn't say whether or not it was better than mine."




The kids both had...

Oven-roasted Turkey with mashed potatoes, green beans, and seasonal fruit

"The 3 year old is the only child in America who doesn't like mashed potatoes, so he subbed fries and then had to share."

"We were starving so I forgot the menu pic."

"Loved the roasted garlic and olive oil for the bread."

'Little bit had a steak (which I had cut before I remembered to photograph it)."

"Older son had a cheeseburger."

Next we have Kerri's (wdwpirates) update from their day trip (on Friday) to St. Augustine.


Kerri said, "In case you are wondering why we went to SA for the day...I am a mega fan of Daryl Hall & John Oates. We've seen them all over the US and Canada. They happened to announce this tour date after we made our WDW plans so I was stoked when I was able to fit it in."

"We'd never been to St. Augustine and doing some research I knew we wanted to check out St. George Street. There on St. George Street behind Whetstone candy we happened upon The Spanish Bakery. This was the place to be. All locals! So we stepped into the small one room shack....yes, I said shack.

We ordered an empanada, a sausage roll and the veggie soup."

"This food was amazing!! Holy cow! The soup had loads of delicious veggies including carrots, chickpeas and onion. The empanada was the best I've ever had...a great mix of beef, seasonings, peppers and onion all wrapped up in a tasty crusty pocket. The sausage roll was also quite good. It was a buttery pastry wrapped around a sweet sausage. These were so good, Jim went back for seconds!"








"Being that we were right behind Whetstone's Chocolate Shop we had to sample some for dessert.
Here are pics of a white chocolate covered pretzel, a milk chocolate covered pretzel, a peanut butter cup and a chocolate dipped mint Oreo."

"All of these were awesome! My fav was the mint Oreo!"






"It was really cold in St. Augustine Friday. Well cold for Florida anyhow.
We stopped into the Seafood Fest for dinner before heading to the concert."

"The only thing I didn't like about this was that you couldn't order little bites or small plates of anything.
You had to get large meals. So it limited what you could actually try."

"The crab cake was just ok....I've had better. The conch fritters were great! The rice was awesome!
Great combo with the grilled peppers."

"Jim found filet mignon on a stick with fries. The fries were lousy but, man, that filet was fantastic!
Seasoned and grilled to perfection!"

"Then I noticed that another booth had popcorn shrimp as well as Maryland curly fries. The fried shrimp were overdone but had a tasty batter. I was so intrigued by the Maryland curly fries. They are basically curly fries with Maryland crab cake seasoning on them. Delicious!!!!"​

Emily said, "Vanilla-laced French Toast for both me and mom. This is a very good French toast dish, and the best thing I've had on their breakfast menu."

He said, "It's cool, so I decided to get hot chocolate from the stand near Mexico."



First a menu pic...

"This is from Joffrey's (my guess due to tea and coffee being that brand). Its hot and has good flavor to it."





Then he said, "The festival hasn't opened, but the food stands are set up. This one is near where I got hot chocolate earlier. Looks nice."

"Did a lighter lunch with Jiko tonight. Did dessert first from..."

"Got a chewy caramel bar. Best snack I've ever ate. Very chewy and wasn't sticky."




Then his lunch was at Japan's...

"This is my favorite CS location and the food and view are why."

"My main dish was Japanese Curry rice. I've had authentic Curry rice. This isn't as spicy as I remember at my favorite place at home. That was actually a good thing. It was quite flavorful and has lots of rice."

"My first plate, clockwise from top: beef hash, sweet potato coconut casserole, Mickey waffle, frittata, ham with spicy honey mustard, and cheese blintz."

"Mom's first plate: same as above with eggs, roasted potatoes, bacon, biscuit and croissant."

"Next plate: waffle, crumb cake, apple turnover, eggs, bacon."

"Lastly: bread pudding with vanilla sauce, fruit, orange bread."



"Everything was pretty good. Highlights were the hash, Mickey waffles, and the apple turnover. Offerings are similar to Boma, and I think they are executed much better there. Atmosphere, service and characters were tons of fun tho!!"

Emily said, "We had a reservation for Via Napoli. However, the Epcot monorail was broken down today and everyone had to take a bus from the Ticket & Transportation Center if they wanted to get there. It was a complete mess, and we missed our reservation, which is okay because we weren't really in the mood for t. Epcot was so busy that we decided to head over to the Beach Club and try..."

"This was a huge serving. Mom and I split it and still couldn't finish it. It was absolutely delicious. Very warm and moist and fudgy, just like a good brownie should be."

Za'atar-rubbed Lamb Flatbread with cranberry-pear chutney and Point Reyes Blue Cheese


"This was my starter for dinner. It has lamb and a cranberry chutney besides cheese. It was crispy from the hot oven and very well balanced. I am not a cranberry fan, but the chutney brought a lot of flavor."

"I had this palette cleanser before the main course. It was a nice treat due to it being my birthday."

"This is the oak grilled filet mignon. It was a perfectly grilled and juicy piece of meat. This is the best piece of meat I ever had. It came with excellent Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. Mac and Cheese was very creamy and pasta was tender. Only draw back was not enough Brussel sprouts."

"I had an excellent tasting size dessert as a surprise due to Birthday. It was simple and tasty small dessert after a great meal."

"This highly exceeded our expectations! The crab legs were tender and the mussels and shrimp were buttery and delicious. The Mac and cheese was some of the best I've ever had. Paella and seafood salad were great as well. All of the desserts were fab; the flourless cake being the standout."​

Happy Birthday to Emily! I've always enjoyed reading about their trips.

We're very excited to be joining you in just TWO MORE DAYS and as a bonus I was packing last night and found a package of three $15 Disney gift cards I'd not realized I had! Bonus! I think I'll use them on deliciousness! This calls for a dancing banana or three!!!
