I make home made frosting with confectionary sugar ....a little oil....vanilla and some milk.....and when it is still a little hard....I add juice from the jar and the flavor is delcious.......
Wow, Pumba - that was a blast from the past! My mother used to do that when we were kids. (Never wasted anything, my mother.) I've never heard of anyone else doing it. I don't make cakes that need icing as I'm diabetic. I usually "force" my children to eat cakes w/o icing - if I even make one.
