We aren't transfering from the airport or a WDW resort for our cruise. We are staying with friends. So how does the baggage checking work? And, is check in different for concierge guests?

If your friends are driving you to the port, I do not think they will be able to drive all the way in. There are at least 2 checkpoints on the entrance road where they check your photo id's against a manifest of who is on the cruise. Someone else may have experience with this.

As for concierge check in..... the concierge check in is almost at the far end of the check in counter. If you arrive prior to the start of boarding, they will escort you to a waiting area and you will board immediately after any handicapped guests. If boarding has already started, they will escort you to the front of the line.

They have porters who will take the luggage you are checking. If you are driving you can drive right up next terminal & drop off the luggage. If someone is dropping you off I do not think they will be able to pull up to the terminal, they will need to drop you off at the drop off area, which is just in front of the terminal. Pretty sure they will have porters coming over there as well. It is all marked and they have CM's outside handling the guests, so dont worry about getting it wrong

Once inside the terminal concierge guests have a special check-in line.

Our friends are coming too, and I am considering hiring a service to take us from their house to port (we both have 1 yr olds), so I don't think drop off is as much of a problem.
