Cheapest time to go nov- jan and deposit amount for trip booked directly with disney.

We went to disney in 2010 and 2011 but always booked last minute. We want to book a vacation through disney world itself for end of 2015 and was wondering what is deposit you need to give to hold the reservation we would be booking for 5 people at art of animation or a moderate that takes 5 plus tickets and dining plan. Is there a minimum required ? Or is a percentage of package total cost? When do deals come out for 2015 for packages not room only we are thinking at least get something booked and then change dates if deal comes up. Any suggestion cheaper times to go between the end of October 2015 - jan 2016

Since you've had experience planning trips, go back through your channels and ask questions. 2015 is a bit of a stretch to get data on, but the good news is you have plenty of time to save....I typically book our resort first and make any adjustments to the reservation when discounts come through. The time frame you are looking at --Halloween and Christmas Season--is a favorite and I don't so much care about nickel and diming it that time of year as I do getting ADRs to everything we want.

The current deposit required for a package is $200. If you need to book separate rooms in order to fit all 5 people, then you would need $400. It's been that amount for several years. If you were to book a room-only reservation, then the deposit is equal to a single night's stay.

Rates for 2015 will probably come out in late July or early August of this year. Jan. 2016 will not be available until July/Aug in 2015. Those would be the rack rates and full-price tickets and dining. Deals for those dates would be announced later. Most likely in the summer of the same year for Oct.-Nov. and early fall for Dec.-Jan.
