Charging on cards with guests?

Ok, I hope this question is not too confusing. We are going home in Aug.,staying in a 1 bdm. with my brother and sister in law. My DH and I always use our room card for tickets, charging, etc. It's just easier than carrying a lot of money. My question is: Will our guests also have their own charging privilages and be able to put their tickets on their own cards, or will all of the cards be in my DH's name? I hope I have made sense. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused"> ˆ

They will extend charging priveledge to your guests, but on the card you check in with. If you want to make your own agreement with your guests, then you can allow them to have charge priveledge too. We usually only have our own key cards with charge priveledge, but not our guests. It is too hard to remember when the bill comes who bought what. I would encourage you to have them use their own credit card.

What we did on our last trip was to give our credit card when we checked in. We let my brother and his wife have charging priveleges also. Each card of the card has a number on it. So on the last night we got a copy of bill and on the bill each charge shows which card made the charge. So we just added up our bills and when we checked out we gave our card for our charges and they gave their card for their charges. It was very easy. It is so much easier just carrying the one card.

I didn't realize we could do that. I will certainly take advantage of that next time!

When my friend and I took out kids down last August upon checking in I told the CM at the desk that my friend wanted everything of hers and her son's on her Amex Card. No problem..even the UMP's were charged separately. It just made things easier.

Did they still get the UMP discount if they put it on there own cards?

hi diane: i've never had trouble breaking down any of our guests' charges or with anyone abusing their privileges. we've been doing this since 93, and i've always allowed the kids to have charging privileges as well. i figured if they were ever stuck or needed a snack and we weren't around it would be worth it. last may my group of 14 all had charging privileges on my credit card. everything worked out perfectly. i didn't know the front desk cms could break it up though.

Disneydiane - Yes discounts were applied to the UMP's that my friend bought. As long as the DVC Member (Me) was there to do the "registration" it was fine. What we did was we asked before all the exchanges of credit cards took place if there was a way that she could purchase her own UMP's. The CM said that could be done and then he asked if she wanted her credit card applied to her key for charges. It was very simple and we'll do the same thing again this coming July.
