Celebrating My Son's 4th Birthday at Sea

Good morning,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips/ideas for celebrating my son's 4th birthday while on the ship. He'll turn 4 our 2nd day on board wasn't sure if the birthday package was worth its hefty price? I had done a little digging and saw some comments on here that they don't put that package in on their birthday, it's actually already there on the first day. We're on a 4 night Disney Dream sailing. Any thoughts/ideas would be helpful, or things that I might not know about since this is our first cruise with Disney!

Thanks in advance!:)

We celebrated DD 3rd bday inboard the Magic last year. We didn't do a package or a special cake. We did have a friend/family party the weekend before we left and gave her larger gifts at that time. On board go to guest services and get the happy birthday button, and make sure they have the date correct. He can wear the button everyday or just his birthday. On DDs birthday, she received 2 special bday cards from various crew members, a very special dessert (I made sure serve knew what she liked), a happy birthday song and blew out candle at dinner, upon returning to our stateroom our room steward had constructed a multitiered bday cake with candle out of towels. I purchased some special small trinkets on board for her to open the day of her bday and we had a few smaller gifts from home. It was a great day at sea!

While wearing her button everyone wished her a happy birthday. Can't remember a single bday request I was not able to grant on board except balloons - which are not allowed on board.

Hope your DS has a very magical 4th birthday ,

Thanks for the great idea about the button - I will definitely have to do that for him. He will think that's cool for sure. We're doing a small birthday the weekend after we get back since Labor Day weekend would be the weekend before, and I was thinking about making some type of birthday magnets (saw a cute Mickey on Etsy) and maybe some decorations (non-balloon of course) in the cabin.

Forgot about the magnets. I made her bday magnets and a ton more and let her decorate the door. We also did FE so she had tones of gifts throughout most of the cruise every time we returned to the cabin. Highly recommend the FE group - he will love!

Our daughter will be turning 3 the day we board the ship. I mentioned that to the Cruise Specialist at Disney when I booked and she made a note in our reservation. We are thinking about getting the birthday package for the room as well. :goodvibes
