Cat 9, Deck 2, anyone stayed here before?

We loved Deck 2 midship! It was perfect. So close to everything. Low enough that you don't feel all of the ship's movement. Even though we were near the elevators and conference room, it didn't seem noisy at all!

I'm glad to hear that most if not all of you guys like Cat 9 Deck 2. I read from another post that their room was near the laundry and there were some noise cause some folks were just standing around talking. Is that in the front, mid or back of the ship?

Thanks guys for repsonding. Anyone else would like to chime in if you've stayed there before? What did you think? How was it? TIA!!

We were in 2564 back in 1999. We liked it, good location for us. Took the stairs most of the time. Close to the elevators, when we did take one. No problem with noise. You shouldn't have a problem.

I have cat. 9 --2580--for the 14 day PC cruise coming back to FL next summer. Is that one o.k as far as little noise?? (My dd will be 2 years 4 months and I want her to sleep well!!!!!!!);)

GMandy,

We were in that stateroom last April and thought it was great. I think you'll enjoy it.

We will be on the other side next sail in August 05 Repo Cruise!

I tortured myself by doing stairs all the time, I figured with all the eating I was doing it was the least I could do! That climb to Deck 9/10 from 2 is a pretty good one.

What is it like to be in one of these rooms when the waves are higher? Does the water ever get so high that you can't see out of the window?

So is there just a curtain that blocks out the light? With it being such a large porthole I'm wondering if it's a problem having morning light come in?

Any thoughts on 2646-2648?? We are booked into them for our Jan 05 cruise and they were the only Cat 9's left when I decided to change from Cat 10. Just needed the natural light.

So let me know any good or bad things on these rooms.

Chasbos!!!!

Those were our rooms on the Xmas 2003 cruise and to answer your question we booked the same exact rooms on the xmas 2005 cruise.

They are great rooms. They are two of the last four rooms on the starboard side. Virtually no foot traffic past your room, ever.

Very quiet, except for very low hum of the engine which I liken to the noise of a home furnace. White noise, never really noticed it.

Very convenient to restaurants, shops, everything.

On disembarkation day, there was some noise as we were in port quite early that day and the noise came from the port but we had to get off the boat so it was no problem.

They were great as connecting rooms. we had DD's in them and us in ours, with the split bathrooms we had essentially 4 bathrooms for four people.

Take good care of them!

Any other questions just PM me.

Jim

I love category 9 Deck 2 and I usually stay in 2086/2088. I love the location for when I am rushing to get ready for dinner and the end of night leaving the clubs. The pools are far away but I feel I could use the stairs during the day for more exercise. At night when I am tired I am right there! Laundry was right there too and that was totally convenient. No issue with noise. Loved running and doing laundry in my PJ's early in the a.m. :D

No. The only thing obstructing the view was salt residue from sea spray. Even then, the windows were power washed at every port stop.

On the largest of waves (and there were some big ones the week we cruised), if the ships bow hit 'em just right, some of the spray was as high as our window. The waves weren't anywhere close.

My family and I stayed in cabin 2098 on our first cruise. We absolutely loved it! Looking out that large porthole while cruising and docked was very nice. I did not regret at all not getting a veranda. If I am not mistaken, and for give me if I am, I think there was a laundry room almost across the hall. We heard no noise at all except well docking and it was just a little thud. In my opinion this was a great room.

We just got off of the Magic. Stayed in 2548 midship. It was close to the elevator/stairs, Oceanear's Lab and we enjoyed the large porthole. Instead of spending money on a verandah (we were never in our room), we spent money on souvenirs and pictures. I'm sure a verandah room would be wonderful, but we didn't miss it and our room was quite roomy once we put our suitcases under the bed.
