My cruise is only 11 days away:cool1: What does it mean when they have opened up "cast member rates"? I also noticed that they have opened up rooms that were not previously there (like inside rooms) .. I guess the cruise is not that full

I think it mean's that Disney Cast Member's (employee's) can get a Cast Member heavily discounted rate to cruise to fill up the empty Staterooms.

Ex Techie :)

That's what it means--the ship is not full and they are trying to fill cabins at discounted rates.

From DCL's standpoint, an empty cabin is a loss. A cabin with people in it = some money toward the fixed expenses of the ship and the possibility of income from onboard purchases. So, even when they sold cabins at $25 per guest per night of cruise (this was a TA special rate at one point!), they had the possibility of making money from those guests.

FYI....please do not post CM rates on a public forum like this (in case anyone was thinking of doing it).

Thanks.

Inside rooms have probably become available as they more than likely "pixie dusted" some inside rooms and gave them an upgrade thus opening the inside rooms to the cast members.
