Day 10 Part 4
October 24th - Disney Magic
I was able to unpack about half of our stuff before the life boat drill started. It was nice to finally be mostly organized!
Kira helped me put all of our magnets on the door and she loved seeing them every time we came back to our room!
Time to get suited up!
She did pretty well with the life vest, it really helped that when we put it on, I gave her a sucker! Good thinking on my part!
She was even able to walk down the stairs, no problem!
We ended up being right next to Steve, Laura and Stu and Leah! Rob and Steve share birthdays and they also have similar interests. I wish we could have spent more time with them on this cruise, they are such nice people!
We were also lined up with Walt & Di but they were in front of us and I couldn't get a pic of them.
So remember that good thinking on my part? Yeah well, obviously I didn't think it through too well because she was really well behaved...until she finished the sucker half-way through the drill!
She started to have a meltdown, which was understandable because we were in the sun with this huge, uncomfortable life vest on and even I was on the verge of a meltdown!
The CM let us leave 2 minutes early so we ducked out and took off her jacket and went back to the room.
While I unpacked, Rob slept some more.
I asked him if he was going to the Sail Away party but he didn't answer me so I just continued on with the unpacking.
I thought I would miss having that nice trunk with shelves in the room but I actually didn't! We found enough space for all our stuff and it was nice having that extra floor space at the end of the bed!
I got so busy with unpacking I looked out and realized we were moving!!! Crap, another thing missed
I really wanted to see us sail out of the channel so I took Kira down to deck 4 and we hung out there for about 45 mins.
She had a lot of fun running around and sitting on the comfy blue chairs.
We went to Plutos and got some supper for Kira. She doesn't eat buns with her hot dogs so it worked out for us, I just asked for 2 wieners, no buns and some chicken strips. We got some fruit at Goofy's Galley and some milk at the drink station and found a table.
That is when I realized that there is no juice available at the Drink Station. For some reason I thought there was but I was so wrong.
She ate both wieners and one strip and some fruit and I ate the rest of the strips.
It was almost time for the Welcome Aboard Show so we went back up to the room to see if Rob was going to the show but he said no.
Kira and I went down to the theatre (deck 5 forward was nice for that, really close to the WD Theatre!) and found some seats on the end of a row pretty close to the stage. I wasn't sure she would last the whole show and I didn't want to bother anyone when we left.
She loved seeing the characters and she lasted most of the show. When she started to act up, we left.
Back to the room to get ready for dinner. I didn't think Rob was going to go but when we got back to the room he said he was feeling better and wanted to go to dinner.
We dropped Kira off at Flounders at 8pm and watched her play for a few minutes. I had been telling her about Flounders for months now and so she knew that we would drop her off to play, go for supper and then pick her up. I had made reservations for 2-3 hours every night so that she could have fun while we had a nice relaxing dinner.
She was so excited to go, she didn't even say good-bye to us!
I took these shots earlier when no one was in there.
We made our way down to Animator's Palate and we found our tablemates...Sean, Bernie, Bailey, Gary, Nancy, Chuck, Tony & Stacy. We were shown to our table and figured out the best seating arrangement.
It was hard because the table was so long so if you sat on the end, you couldn't really hear much of the conversation.
I was worried about our servers because the last cruise, our serving team was horrible!!!!!! On our first night (we brought Kira because she was only 10 months old then) it took 45 minutes to get her some milk, they didn't have a high chair for us and it took an hour to get her some food which was cold.
So I was pleasantly surprised to see this when we got there...
They were all ready for her!!! WOW!
They were sad to hear that she wasn't going to be with us during dinner but I told them that it was actually a good thing and that they just didn't know it
We were introduced to our dining team Orlan and Cindy who were absolutely FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!
Orlan was soooo funny, he had us all laughing the whole time! He was the perfect server for our bunch! Cindy was sad not to see Kira because she has a 2-year-old at home that she was missing.
Our gang
He did something that I've never seen a server do...he asked us all what we like to be called....he had our names on his list and he went around to each one of us and said our names and then we told him what nicknames we had. When he got to me he said "Catherine" which is my full name but I go by Cass, which he had a hard time pronouncing so I told him "Just like a$$ with a C"
So then he said it really slowly and softly and it came out all sexy and smooth so everytime he said "Cassssssss" , I replied with "Ooooooooorrrrlan"
Like I said, we laughed the whole time!
We had a fabulous time, great food, great service and even better company!
I should mention that Bernie & Sean had delivered all their FE gifts that day which were these totally awesome lanyards with "I'm with BOB" written on them. They were so comfortable and they were a great way to spot BOBers all over the ship!
After a wonderful dinner, it was time for dessert. Sadly my all-time favourite dessert was no longer on the menu but I had read reports that if you request something that they had all the ingredients for then they could make it for you within 24hours. Well, I spoke to the head server Wira (easy to remember...Kira with a W ) and asked him if there was any way he could arrange for us to have a Peanut Butter Pie. He said he would speak to the kitchen staff and see what he could do.
So after a wonderful dinner, we checked on Kira and she was doing great so we still had an hour before we had to pick her up so we went back to our room and changed clothes and then went down to Rockin' Bar D for Disney Quest.
We were hoping for a encore performance from our underdawg, Mike and we weren't disappointed.
Our group was so big so we had to split it up and surprisingly, Gary became our leader for the game. He was a good leader, he was sitting right on the aisle and the dude is young and is super fast!
Of course the best part was the finale where they guys parade around in women's attire and accessories LOL!
Thankfully, I brought my camera this time
Mike and Gary doing their final pose on the end. LOL
It was time to pick up Kira so Rob told me to stick around to watch Match Your Mate while he got Kira and put her to bed.
MYM was fun and we even had a BOBer couple participating! If I remember correctly, they had been married for 42 years and they ended up winning!
Back to the room after the show and found out that our host hadn't brought a bedrail for Kira.
We improvised and put the little bench next to her so she wouldn't fall out.
Here is our room when we went back to change clothes...
Both my babes were sleeping when I got back so I changed into my swimsuit and went up to the hot tub and pool. I was just getting comfy in the hot tub when I saw the CM covering up the pool. It was midnight already and time to shut her down! I wish they would keep it open until 1am.
Oh well, time for some sleep, it had been a looooong day and I needed some rest!
