Canadian Buffoon's Hi Low Vacation - South Central Musings

Fun update!

Love the photo session with Ariel!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Funny that the lady next to you looks like she is holding on for dear life and screaming and you and the other 2 people in the car look calm as can be..

 7DMT is far less scary than some of my work commutes.
Maybe she doesn't get out much.

Great Pic!

Thanks! I'm particularly happy with that one.

Who does that in public?! :rotfl2:

Well, I know one person.

I did! Question, was the cookie warm? Soft?

Both! Soooo good.

1. Okay, fine. I'm leaving.
What method of transportation did I use?
---------------------------Bus

2. How long is my wait this time?----------- 2 minutes

3. I am going to a park... sometime.
Where am I going now?
a. My resort.--------------------------------this one
b. Springs.
c. Another park.
d. Another resort.
e. Other, because there has to be an other.

4. Which park do I go to next?---Epcot

5. Extra security? Yes or no?----yes

6. I stand in line. I know. You're shocked.
How long? (it was long)-----15 minutes

7. You know those jerks
who stand right in front of you
after you've staked out a spot?
Who was it?
a. CM
b. Man (guest)
c. Woman (guest)----------------this one
d. Me

8. Long day? Short?
What time do I get to bed?-------------11pm

Noted.

Bonus: Just a little thought, did you see it?
Sure you saw it.
You saw it, right?-----------yes I did, just as rare as the wait time for that ride being 15 minutes.

That show is highly sought after.

I"d forgotten to mention that I yes, did in fact, put my hands up to my face like a moron. But if that's how we get points here, and seeing as though I am in the lead...

That's how the game is played. ::yes::
And you did mention it actually.

Of course, I'm in the (most likely very short-lived) lead.

See?

Now, about any other points that might be bestowed upon your humble reader... might I suggest/request/beg for a couple of bonus points because yes, I did know that you did the HDR in post-processing (yeah, that was a lame one) or maybe because, I thanked you for the creative re-telling of how Ariel got cold feet at the last minute and chose that other guy?

Hmmmm......
You make a good case.
But.

I believe this is your second request for points?
Any further requests may result in points being deducted.

You have been warned.

Meanwhile.... pixiedust: Points granted.

Oh, God...
Who knew that John Denver could act?
Well, no one did or does, but still…

I knew this would happen.
I knew it.
Then why’d you allow it?

You watch a scary movie
and suddenly the bad guy
jumps out from behind the door!
The thumping sounds you hear
are people keeling over from
heart attacks.
Jaws…
The head in the sunken boat…
Viewed on the big screen…
I was 13…
<<shudder>>

Six a.m.
Time to get up.
Stupid alarm.
Beats three a.m.

(Oh, and everyone else but me has
to wait until... hmm... three p.m.
before they show up.
Well, my friends can be there too.
And people who pay moi for the privilege.
Seems fair.)
Howard Hughes would agree.

Why? Because I felt like it.
So... pppbbbtttt.
It’s nice when we reach the age where we can act whatever age we want.

I got myself up and at 'em
And “‘em” ran away in horror…

(I was going to say I went both ways,
but why stoke the flames.)
We know better…
The tabloids would have outed you by now.

Wait time: 0 minutes.
As it should be.
What universe do you live in?
It certainly ain’t the same one I’ve been condemned to.

(and as for whatever it was I did in my last life to deserve this condemnation, I sure hope I at least had way more fun doing it then can possibly be allowed)

Am I not generous?
I suspect that are times when folk might debate that assertion.

I wondered if they were doing it because
a. It was early and there were fewer guests
so might as well search everyone…
That was my experience.

there was exactly one Disney
guest walking that path that morning.
And they didn't know I was behind them.
Why would they?
No one would go that way, right???
Well apparently two people do.

(I mean, really. How can you not love someone
who has their own grotto, for Pete's sake!)
Hugh Heffner, Mad King Ludwig, most Bond Villains…
Yep, that’s some good company.

I told the Mom and son to go ahead.
One person ahead of me wasn't going to
change my day, but it might, theirs.
It does constitute a couple points toward actually being “just that loveable“.

I rushed over and asked if she remembered me.
"Ariel it's me! Remember me from last year?"

She did! She said she remembered me!
Might wan’na do a bit of a comparison on your pictures…
I do believe someone here is telling a story.

Well...
Maybe it wasn't quite as wonderful for her.
When I went to sweep her
up into my arms, well...

PhotoPass_Visiting_MK_7804263631_zpsvzt4asju.jpg
:lmao: Another shot of mysterious, inexorable, official justice.

Disappointing.
Not from your readers point of view (and possibly Ruby’s).

Step three. And this is crucial.
Hope for the best.
I’ve been living in “Step-3 World” for several weeks now.
I expect to be here for quite a while yet.

I'm not normally a character fan,
but this girl went above and beyond.
It was really nice of her
and I appreciated it.
Good story…
Excellent outcome.
Ya’ done good.

Fish lie you know.
Go ahead and see for yourselves.
The next time you're talking with a fish,
ask them anything.
They'll never tell you the truth.
you’re not asking in the precise language.
Dialect is key…
Just ask Dory.

OMG! What is she doing to those little people!
SHE'S EATING THEM!
Law of the jungle… errr…. I mean…. Ocean.

You can see it in her eyes.
I know it looks like pure terror,
but I'm sure it's not.
Should trust your first instincts, there.

Is that a septopus?
I don’t know, did Ariel get ahold of him?

Hey! You! Know where I can find a mermaid?
Yeah, they seem to hang around a TR being written by this bloke named Pkondz…

Hey! Dude! This is Florida!
If you wanna smoke that stuff,
you have to move to California!
Not any more…

Transforming mermaid's #1 worry?
That the swirling water covers the naughty bits.
Certainly Disney’s #1 worry.

After being rejected by Ariel...

Again.

And again.

And again..... :sad2:
Which qualifies under Einstein’s definition of insanity…

Well, BTMRR is out.
Down for refurb.

The only sad part of our time down there as well.

I'm a good person.
(When I'm not being absolutely horrid.)
Pretty sure that describes us all…

Saying hello to someone is one thing,
but... "Hi Ho"??? Really?
This is a family park, Disney.
Does that imply that you’re one of the Johns?

Wait.... Maybe they weren't saying hello.
Maybe they making a comment on her stature?
Or was it more a comment on said Ho’s level of chemical intoxication?

So maybe....
Do you think?

Is Snow White the hi ho????

It would explain so much.
Even more so if you looked at it the way I was suggesting.

Sorry. Got sidetracked there.
Where was I?
Searching for High Ho’s

I finally gave up and shot an HDR photo
Something I’ve not yet tried to do.
But I’ve still much to experiment with and learn about photography.

I was starting to feel a bit peckish,
so I personally pecked a passing person.
Adhering to the Hen House Rules I see…

I can't remember when I last ate.
And I'm not going to go back
to the previous day/chapter to check!
Don’t blame you…
Who’d be foolish enough to do something that loony?

they disappeared.
Just like...
Hmmmm.... something.
Can't think of anything
that disappears.
A fart in the wind…

Sashay, sashay, sashay,
Keep them sore feet movin', raw feet!
Through rain an' wind an' weather
Hell bent for Dole Whips,
Wishing Ariel was by my side…

I switched the FP to HM instead.
Why?
Why not?
After having recently stated that you “never” fast-pass HM…
I’m assuming that you did it here just to increase our trust in your narrative.

So yeah... she was a good skipper.
And a good skipper totally
makes or breaks this ride.
That, they do.

(dark meat, light meat, dark meat, light meat....)
“Tail!”

Five pole dancers
and a horny animal.
Now, that one I’ve not heard.
But I like it.

The front side of water!!!!

Wait. That's not how that joke goes...
And Dr. Albert Falls will attest to that.

Eventually the head shrinker
came into view.
I tried to get a decent shot,
but sometimes...

DSC03853_zpsklihrmnv.jpg
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Recorded for both posterity and ignominy

You're still reading?????
Good grief!
I guess I have to keep yapping then.
It’s a chicken-n-egg kind’a thing, ya’ know.

I checked in at the kiosk
and was given a yellow plastic rose.
I rightly assumed it was because
the girl at the kiosk fell madly
in love with me.
Not if it was yellow…
More likely she was offering condolences and a wish that you get well soon.

Just park it somewhere
out of the way and don't
bother us.
I wonder what percentage of the CMs secretly wish that they could say that to a guest, just once?

"Salut! ça vas aujourd'hui?"*

*translation:
I drive way too fast to worry about cholesterol.
Only in those French phrase books edited by Steven Wright.

(You did the hands thing right?
Bonus points if you did.)
It is with much shame that I hang my head and admit…
Yes… yes I did (and before I read this sentence).

I parked myself at one of
the convenient small tables
that are located no more
than 30 steps apart.
Everyone else refers to those as Garbage Cans

I liked his costume.
Clever.
He was wearing a T-shirt that said:
"This is my costume"
Saw a few of those when we were there.

We went the T-shirt route as well.
But chose a couple of awful Dad jokes with a not so obvious Disney connection…

untitled.JPG

Monorail, 6min, another park, Epcot, No, 25min, CM, 11:30

Bonus: Just a little thought, did you see it?
Sure you saw it.
You saw it, right?
You talking about the Treasury department or the jungle marquee?
(or was there another one that I couldn’t distinguish on my dilapidated monitor?)

- Turns out there was another one that I couldn't see until I got home...
You gott'a feel for ol' Flounder; just no privacy to be found.

But... There are people like me.
Up for rope drop and there til close.
Best of both worlds.

+ Exhaustion. Mustn't forget that.
True. But the hour and a half of prep time I factored in was mainly waiting on a bus time I didn't even factor in the waking up getting ready and getting to the bus stop. There is also the stress of crowded buses to deal with.

I believe this is your second request for points?
Any further requests may result in points being deducted.

You have been warned.

Meanwhile.... pixiedust: Points granted.
Wait... hold the phone... all thats needed to get bonus points is to ask for them? :earseek:How do I get in on that arrangement? :scratchin

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: OMG I LOVE it!

Eek, I've been so busy with work, and work sending me to courses that I completely missed this update! I think I still have time to answer the questions though -

It's one of the reasons I don't post too quickly.
My first TR, I was posting every 5 - 7 days
and people were telling me to slow down.

Of course now, they're generally telling me to stop.

1. Okay, fine. I'm leaving.
What method of transportation did I use?

I'm going to say the monorail, and you took it to one of the resorts along the line (I'm leaning towards the Grand - you wanted to take pictures). You then switch to a bus at the resort.

2. How long is my wait this time?

6 minutes

3. I am going to a park... sometime.
Where am I going now?
a. My resort.
b. Springs.
c. Another park.
d. Another resort.
e. Other, because there has to be an other.

A resort, but not for long. You just took pictures at the Grand and then caught a bus to the Springs.

4. Which park do I go to next?

Epcot, you want more food and wine offerings.

5. Extra security? Yes or no?

Of course.

6. I stand in line. I know. You're shocked.
How long? (it was long)

45 minutes - you had to visit Arendelle.

7. You know those jerks
who stand right in front of you
after you've staked out a spot?
Who was it?
a. CM
b. Man (guest)
c. Woman (guest)
d. Me

C) Woman - but you didn't mind since it was for Illuminations, and you had saw that last night.

8. Long day? Short?
What time do I get to bed?

Who has short days while they are in Disney? Of course it was long!

Noted. But if you want the points,
you might want to guess the time
I got to bed.

Saw both of them :) What sort of treasures are in your treasury? And just how amazing are you?

Jewels of course... and very.
Just ask around.

On second thought.... don't.

It was a very long process to download. I bought the Memory Maker before we left so that I knew we could have all the pictures we wanted. Didn't want to ask for someone to take one of us with our camera. Really wanted to be able to pick and choose a nice "Anniversary" picture and PP takes a lot. Now I can print as many as I want at Walgreens, maybe some to go in Xmas cards. Also personalized a picture frame at Disney to put a 5X7 in so I can print that too.

Nice. Did you pick one yet? If you did, post it!
If I keep writing these things,
I may have to consider getting MM.
Dunno. So pricey just for jpgs....

:goodvibesNot today!

I can see that!

You do? You've seen my writing!?!?

What's really bad is one morning I quickly wrote a note to my husband and when I came home he asked me what it said. I couldn't figure it out!:confused3

:lmao:

I don't think hubby would cared if we rode it or not (because of the wait) but I talked him into it.

Wouldn't care!!!!!! :faint:

For 10 years, every time I heard an Aerosmith song I would think of the ride. I was not going to come back home, hear one and think to myself, "Dang it I didn't get on it!"

That would've been sacrilegious!
I'm glad you got to ride,
even if you had to wait to do it.

Just as we entered the building, there is a room with billboard/posters on one wall, just before we enter where the microphones are. They would change every so often and a new one would come up. We saw my husband's nickname first so I tried to grab my phone for a quick picture, people were in the way and I wasn't fast enough. But I did get mine. So as I'm looking at it now it Says: Live in Concert at the top and Shelly at the bottom. Hey! I just noticed that it also had that day's date on it and the town I live in under that!

Huh. I've never noticed. Unless it's new.
I did the single rider line this time,
so I bypassed that area.

I remember you having it and I really didn't even look at the menu much because I planned on having it. Always like to have a variety anyways

:goodvibes

Well I guess I'm not looking for clothes unless it's Disney. Only so much room in the suitcase. Not a big jewelry girl either. Just not something I would do on vacation unless it was something unique I could only get there.

I'm the same way. I don't normally shop on vacation. The DS Harley store was an exception.

Milwaukee has a nice size airport. That's where we flew out from. Actually we were talking about the fair today because later this week I have to put in for next year's vacation. It's always for 10 days in the early part of August. Not Springfield! We go to the Wisconsin State Fair which is held in Milwaukee. I don't know much about racing but it on the grounds of the "Milwaukee Mile", actually during the fair there is parking on the track. In the last 30 years we've probably only missed it twice. Now my kids have friends that look forward to it every year and like to go. So many bands, food, beer (margarita/Mike's hard lemonade for me) animals, vendors. We make it a full day.

I'd almost certainly drive there.
It's about a 12 hour drive, so doable for me.
I've watched (and greatly enjoyed)
several races at the Milwaukee Mile.
It's one of my favourite tracks.
I'm hoping the Indy cars will return there.

Hang on...

Nope. Not in 2017.
Too bad. So fun to watch.
Tons of passing.

But... that fair sounds like fun! :)

Definitely not in vain! That was hilarious! But everyone else has pretty much covered that territory - no new comments to add.

Oh, no. Please.
Comment away.
My ego can always use extra.

:goodvibes

Bwahaha! That showed up much better on the second reading, on the actual computer. Love the commentary.

Of course not...

Knew it.
She loves me.
It's obvious.

Again.... thought so.

I didn't notice it IRL, or on the first reading, either! Good catch!

Seriously, just lucky.

Oops! I guess they disappeared...

Unfortunately.
Was slightly less than impressed.

Yup. Cupcakes disappeared.

<sigh> Yeah.
Was not happy.

And a cat.

:ccat:

Lol! Dd gets mad at me when I do that sort of thing to her. She is on her second year of Middle School French. She keeps stumping me on random vocabulary words, but I can stump her with basic conversational French.

This is me!
DD will say "What's ______ mean?"

No idea. Use it in a sentence.
Then, I get it.

That does look good. I'll have to remember that, in case I ever do get to eat at BOG!

My thoughts.
Yes, try the braised pork, by all means.
But do not miss the onion soup.

Here goes nothing...
1. Bus
2. 4 minutes
3. d
4. Epcot
5. Yes
6. 45 minutes
7. d (by accident. And then you moved)
8. Long day - your spot was for Illuminations 11 pm

Noted.

Why yes, you are amazing. And I only saw it on the big screen on the second read-through.

Why thank you!

(I would've done the thing with the hands, but I was in places where people would've looked at me strangely for both read-throughs! I know, they probably look at me strangely anyhow, but I didn't think I should give them even more reasons...)

 Okay. Close enough.

I am a bit late to the game.

Never too late! :)

Been very busy with life and such lately. At least I didn't miss one update completely (though I bet it will happen in the next month or so!)

Oh? What's going on?

6am is definitely an early wake up But it is worth it. Disney Exhaustion is the only form of exhaustion that is worth it!

::yes:: I'll sleep when I'm dead.

GAH! You and the buses! 0 minutes. REALLY!?!?

Well, they haven't figured out
how to do minus minutes yet.

My husband and I are headed down in a couple of weeks (with no kids!) to do the 1/2 marathon. We usually rent a car because we have the WORST bus luck. But we are rolling the dice this time. Can I please borrow your good luck?

Nice! Disney sans chilluns'
I'll definitely wish you luck with the busses!
Tell 'em I sent you!

The Ariel Pic is hilarious!

 Thanks!

You know, I have never been through the actual 7DMT queue! The wait has always been to long! It looks cool.

It's interesting.
Kinda reminds me of the Pooh queue.
Interactive things to do.
But I wouldn't stand in line for it.

Well, technically I did.
But not the normal 90 minute one!

I love the Jungle Cruise. One of my favorites. But you are right: A good skipper (and sometimes a good group on the boat) can make or break this one. So it is a tough gamble!

::yes:: I've been on it with a dull skipper and crew.

Boooooring.

The giant ice cream sandwich is the best.

Oh, it was soooo good!
Huge... but good!
I will definitely have it again.
Perhaps as my meal for the day.

Sleep Hollow Refreshments also has one. Just saying.

Thanks for that! I added that to my Disney list.
Might save some walking.

Dang. Now I want one.

1. Bus
2. 6 minutes
3. B. Springs
4. Animal Kingdom
5. Yes. You look suspicious.
6. 45 minutes
7. I wanted to say D, but I know you are too nice for that, so A. CM
8. LONG. Because Disney Exhaustion is worth it. 11:15pm.

Noted.

And nope. Didn't see it. Though in my defense my computer is being all wonky and most pictures weren't loading anyhow!

Oh. Well, that sucks.
I posted stuff just for you guys.

I suspect that's partially my doing.
Loading that many photos takes time.

I'm going to give you a couple of consolation points for that.

Besides. If there's any mistakes
you'll let me know, right?
Lucky for you I'm getting here a week late so I'm sure mistakes have already been pointed out and corrected.

But I did hint at MK.
And that's where I'm going.
Why? Because I felt like it.
Reason enough for me. Hell, I feel like going to MK right now. Just wish I was a little closer.

the Magic Kingdom bus arrived.
Wait time: 0 minutes.
You suck.

I often wonder if the CMs are a bit nervous
standing in front of a group of anxious
park goers.
"If I just remain calm... they won't trample me."
Reminds me of the parade scene in Animal House...

1472246344846

He came back out and informed me
that it would be just a few more minutes.
A train load of passengers on 7DMT
roared by and he waved.
"I got two of them." He said.
I laughed. I could think of worse
ways to spend my day.
Absolutely! That would be a job I could gladly get up and go to.

Although when it is 90 degrees and 75% humidity it might not seem quite as great.

(I hadn't quite worked out the logistics
of that whole "running" thing,
what with her having fins and all.
Maybe I'd get her an ECV or something.
Whatever, we'll figure it out.)
The good news is that when you're in MK, there are ECVs everywhere so you won't have to go far to find one!

Well...
Maybe it wasn't quite as wonderful for her.
When I went to sweep her
up into my arms, well...

PhotoPass_Visiting_MK_7804263631_zpsvzt4asju.jpg
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I'll share this with you too.
Afterwards, I was really grateful
for her playing along.
I thanked her and unbeknownst
to me, the PP photog snapped this:
Awww....

I'm not normally a character fan,
but this girl went above and beyond.
It was really nice of her
and I appreciated it.
Definitely! She did a great job of playing along! I'm so glad that it was something she was willing and able to help with.

Obviously overjoyed to learn
that the wedding dinner would
not be surf & turf.
:rotfl2:

The ride wait time was posted as 15 minutes.
(That's 15 minutes. Not 150 minutes.)
And that's just exactly what I wanted.
It gave me time to meander through
the queue and take some photos.
Not bad at all! I wouldn't mind waiting in that kind of line there to see the queue a little bit more. Problem is it is usually either a RD walk on or a 60+ minute wait.

Well, hello there...
Geez, that junk is still there??? :sad2:
Wow...

Can I go around again??
"No."
Dang.
Over too quick, isn't it?

Hmmm... 15 minute wait
for 7DMT?
This I can do.
::yes:: Not bad!

I only noticed the joke
in the above photo
while I was editing.
Not when I took the shot.
You've always seemed a little slow. :rolleyes1

Saying hello to someone is one thing,
but... "Hi Ho"??? Really?
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

OMG. They're Dwarves! Small!!!!
Everyone
must seem tall to them.
So maybe....
Do you think?

Is Snow White the hi ho????

It would explain so much.
Hmmm... mind blown.

But I know I hadn't eaten today yet.
I didn't want anything too big
(I had a lunch ADR after all)
and I knew just what I wanted.
A cinnamon bun from Gaston's....
Wait a minute, I thought you said you didn't want anything too big???

And just an FYI?
They don't have cupcakes
at the Cheshire Café.
If they ever did,
they disappeared.
Just like...
Hmmmm.... something.
Can't think of anything
that disappears.
Maybe a Cheshire Cat?

Fifteen minutes?
Hmmm.....
That's about fifteen more minutes
than I'd normally wait.
15 minutes seems to be your consistent wait time this morning.

So yeah... she was a good skipper.
And a good skipper totally
makes or breaks this ride.
They do. Glad you had a good one!

Eventually the head shrinker
came into view.
I tried to get a decent shot,
but sometimes...

You just get distracted by life.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

(You did the hands thing right?
Bonus points if you did.)
::yes::

1. Okay, fine. I'm leaving.
What method of transportation did I use?
busoatorail.

Ok, fine, monorail.

2. How long is my wait this time?
4 minutes

3. I am going to a park... sometime.
Where am I going now?
a. My resort.
b. Springs.
c. Another park.
d. Another resort.
e. Other, because there has to be an other.
D

4. Which park do I go to next?
EPCOT

5. Extra security? Yes or no?
Yes

6. I stand in line. I know. You're shocked.
How long? (it was long)
To keep with the theme from this morning... 15 minutes.

7. You know those jerks
who stand right in front of you
after you've staked out a spot?
Who was it?
a. CM
b. Man (guest)
c. Woman (guest)
d. Me
C

It's always a woman. :duck:

8. Long day? Short?
What time do I get to bed?
Who has time for a short day at Disney World? Especially on a quick solo trip. Bed time at 10 pm... that is if I'm right and you go to EPCOT. Probably earlier than that if you go to AK.

Bonus: Just a little thought, did you see it?
Sure you saw it.
You saw it, right?
Colorful and expensive.

Oh? What's going on?

Nothing earth shattering. The holidays are always busy. Toss in training for this 1/2 marathon and the training runs are getting quite long (the fact that I am not fast doesn't help!) so that is taking up some time extra time. And we are having some Daycare issues (she is injured) that is just throwing a wrench into the works. I can't really complain- but a crazy few weeks ahead!

Nice! Disney sans chilluns'
I'll definitely wish you luck with the busses!
Tell 'em I sent you!

Thanks! Maybe it will work! "Excuse me Mr. Bus Driver Sir, pkondz said I shouldn't have to wait this long . . . "

::yes:: I've been on it with a dull skipper and crew.

Boooooring.

It's at that point that I start goofing around with my travel companions. I got in trouble once because I was stealing the skipper's lines before she said them. Probably should work on my whispering skills.
:rotfl2:

Thanks for that! I added that to my Disney list.
Might save some walking.

Dang. Now I want one.

It is probably the exact same on, but we like to get one of those and one of the Nutella Waffle sandwiches and share. Plus there is a lovely seating area with a Castle view!

Oh. Well, that sucks.
I posted stuff just for you guys.

I suspect that's partially my doing.
Loading that many photos takes time.

I'm going to give you a couple of consolation points for that.
Ah, consolation points- the only way I can stay in the game! ;)

Folks, after an almost sleepless night,
followed by taking Kay to first our GP
and then to the ER for 6 hours or so....

I'm calling it quits.
