Can you estimate cost of upgrade on the Fantasy?

We are presently booked in an Oceanview cat 8c room on the Fantasy, the cost for upgrading to a cat 7a verandah is 515.00. We think it is a little high, and would most likely prefer to use that difference for something else on board. Can anyone tell me how to estimate the cost of a possible upgrade if we do this onboard (switch from oceanview to verandah)????

Ballpark guess would be half of that number (so maybe $260?) at the pier (if available).

I don't believe # of people has anything to do with the upgrade amount. They do ask how many guests, but that is so they know what rooms to offer. When we upgraded at the port, they looked up the upgrade cost on a grid. The amounts are all predetermined before you ever ask.
