without a being a passenger? My husband and I will be in the Bahamas and would love to board, look around and buy some souvenirs while the ship is in dock, but I am assuming they don't let non-passengers board in case they don't get off :haha:

No, you would not be allowed on board. All passengers are checked before they board and if your ID does not match their passenger list, you will not be allowed onboard. Besides, you have to have a KTTW card too.

Nope, no one is allowed on board unless they are passengers. They won't even allow family or friends to board to see their loved ones off. Which is a good thing, can you imagine all of the extra confusion and crowds if they didn't keep it "passengers only".

 But that would be neat if DCL did some type of annual ticketed type event where you could do a "tour a DCL day" where people could get on board to view what a DCL boat looks like, and give them the incentive to book while visiting. It would probably be a pretty good money maker for them.

Unfortunately Visitors aren't allowed onboard the ship due to heightened security and local customs regulations. Sometimes crew members that work onboard the ship have friends and family come and visit them when the ship is in port, but they have to submitt all their guests information and then entered in to a security database 72 hours in advance to be screened and cleared by local customs officials..

Sometimes DCL does special tours for Travel Agents but the same rules apply as well.

As for shopping onboard. the shops are all closed when the ships are in port.
