Can I book directly with a hotel?

    Can I call the BWI and make a change to me ressie or do I have to call (407)WDisney to do that?

    You can not call the resort directly to make changes. The resort only has your reservation in their system something like 5 days before you check in.
    You need to call the reservation number to make changes.

    The above is true about when the resort gets your reservation for room assigning or requests. But even if you are checking in tomorrow (or a day or two in advance), you still must call DRC or your travel agent (if you used one) for changes to your reservation. For changes, I mean such things as change of dates, change of room category, or party mix on a package. The resort computer system will not allow changes to reservations prior to check in. That is completely a function of the reservation system. Disney's entire system is designed for the reservation center to take care of future guests and the resorts to take care of guests that are inhoused.

    As others have said, you have to call the regular reservation number. Calls for each individual resort do not go to the resorts directly, but are routed to a call center. The call is answered as if someone was actually at that resort, but it is someone in a call center rather than that particular resort.
