Why are conservative people/republicans and fcc. Always trying to take away everything thats fun. If a show is offensive cant you all CHANGE THE CHANNEL if a song on the radio offends you CHANGE THE DIAL...Why do you have to take this off the air for those who like it? A good example Howard Stern.......If you hate him thats not my problem....If you think he is filthy once again not my problem...CHANGE THE DIAL.....You dont have to listen to him there plenty of other choices you can make.Why do you have to ruin things for other people. I am sure the well over 50% of todays kids arent picking up sex stuff from Howard Stern....They learn it at school or at the movies. You would be suprise tehn umber of 12 year olds I see at R rated movies.......Everyone has a right to there opinion but you shouldnt have a right to change things just cause you dont like them. I dont consider myself a pervert just cause I listen to Howard.......First I dont use drugs I barely even drink alcohol, Ive been with my girlfriend over 3 years and would never cheat on her. I consider myself to be responsible I pay all my bills, I work 9-5 and never been arrested or stopped by a cop. So does listening to rap music,Howard Stern,Maxim Radio(girl,sex talk on satellite radio channel) make me bad.. I dont think it does.....I just wish you people stop taking away everything that I enjoy.....Its not all Disney and Seventh Heaven people. As much as Ilove my Disney movies I love my Howard Stern and I love that kinda talk radio...

The reason I started this post was becuase now I hear FCC/Republicans want to go after satellite radios and pay channels on cable. I mean sorry but come on folks this is ridicoulous already. I am paying for that entertaiment........IT IS MY CHOICE

Thanks for the suit Honestly not sure how people would get offended maybe the whole come on folks is not all disney and seventh heaven part. Its true though VERY VERY true. There are PLENTY of shows I dont like but do I watch them....Good example shows the deal with alternative lifestyles....i am not gay but I dont dislike people who are. I also dont watch the shows catering to the gay community but you dont see me trying to take it away from them.....That just ignorant and childish.......I simply CHANGE THE DIAL or CHANGE THE CHANNEL something republicans/Fcc and conservatives need to do. You have CHOICES you live in america you dont have 3 channels you probably have 300 channels and you dont have 3 radio stations you got more like 20(160 if you got sirius) IF YOU DONT LIKE IT CHANGE IT

IMO, it is ignorant and childish to think that all people of any particular political party think alike.

Maybe a better discussion would start with your citing specific laws being proposed that you disagree with?

I consider myself conservative, but I don't care to take away your rights. However, I do think the media effects society and I do have to live in it. It might not effect you personally but I believe it does effect some people. Not all conservatives hate everyone that views things different from them. But... I'll pray for you! jk

My intentions might have been to start a debate but not to bash anyone......I didnt curse or say any 4 letter words.......i was not however going to candy coat anything for anyone...If your one of the people out there who think its wrong for me as an adult to pay for a service and listen to something you think is offensive then you have ISSUES. I dont go around listening to the radio with the windows down and the volume up. How is it any of your concern what I do behind "closed doors". I am not what wrong with society YOU are whats wrong with society. If you want to go on and try to stop Drug Abuse I'LL BE THERE, School Violence I'LL BE THERE, Child Abuse I'LL BE TEHRE, Drunk Driving I'LL BE THERE. Now if you want to stop something becuase you think it is in moral for man to say the F word on satellite radio then you have major issues and NEED TO GET A LIFE. If what this boils down to is your kids........Hey I wouldnt want my kids listening to Howard, Stern or Eminem but guess what I will make sure that they dont.....I wont however go around trying to take it off the air waves.

Hey now, the Christians stole the pagan's winter celebration and lots of the traditions along with it. I don't care how you celebrate your winter holiday of choice, and I don't want anyone telling me how to celebrate mine. That's it. I think that's fair.

I am a parent of teenagers. What I see on tv and hear on the radio is terrible. We have become a country that is out of control. Where do we as a society draw a limit? I am glad that we have people that are trying to get things banned. Respect is sooo gone. Raising kids in this world is getting harder and harder. The words in music are horrible. When you watch a music video they should rate most of them "R". But in this world that seems to be okay. Instead of saying things are bad we want to push for more and more. Things may seem great to you but as a responsible parent and citizen we really need to look at what is out there. It's not good. I am glad to say I am a conservative person. Lets stop being so excepting. That is what is killing this country. I just had my daughter tell me that a guy she has been seeing called her a prude. My answer was,good! I told her it is great to have respect for yourself and not go along with what others want you to do.

To the op-I completely agree with you for the most part, why does anyone care what you watch or listen too, but I don't consider myself republican or democrat, but if I had to chose one I would say I lean more republican. What makes you think that republicans are the ones taking this stuff away from you. Little by little the fcc has taken things away. It doesn't matter who is in office.

OP, you should do some research on Tipper Gore (you know the wife of famed liberal Al Gore) and the PMRC.

BTW, as a self proclaimed conservative, I have no problem in Howard Stern, Andy and Opie and anyone else doing their own thing on pay for listening radio. I do feel that there should be regulation as to what is broadcasted over public airwaves.

Much of what makes up the modern Christmas tradition was actually derived from older pagan traditions. As far as changing, the political wing of the Christians certainly did their bit when they elected to adopt some of the pagan aspects to help make it easier for some to convert to Christianity. Many scholars believe Jesus was born in the September time frame, btw.

I am totally in favor of banning "Girls gone Wild" video commercials........I am also in favor on banning all the violence and sex on public tv. I am not however in favor of havinf pay per view and satellite radio banned. These are paid services....Go after the porn industry if you want but not after a rapper who says the F word on a CD that you have to be over 18 to buy......or a schock jock who says the F word on a paid radio service. I am not in favor of kids watching violence,sex,drug abuse on prime time........Still certain things should just be left alone and it should be up to the parents to keep kids away from them mainly pay per view cable and satellite radio.......

I have many democratic friends that feel that sexually explicit radio/tv/magazines should be banned. I consider myself republican and I could care less what anyone else listens/watches/reads. I don't find those kind of things entertaining but if someone else does, who am I to judge? I live in my own Disney/7th Heaven world
