Can DVC members pool hop?

I just got back from a trip to the Poly and I saw, and spoke with several families that were pool hopping and they explained that DVC members could do that...

Yes, with certain restrictions.

DVC Members can pool hop with the exception of SAB at the Yacht/Beach Club and I think the new pool at the BLT. Otherwise, DVC members are free to roam to each and every Disney pool.

I believe Kidani pool is also one of the restricted. I am not sure though
