Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

Hi Everyone! We arrived in Orlando yesterday, got to Newark airport 2 1/2 hours early and we got right through to the gate in about 10 minutes! there was no wait on the jetblue line. Everything was organized there really well. Got to the house last night, went out to Key W cools restaurant for steak, went food shopping for the week and went in the pool til about midnight! The weather is great here, actually just a little hotter than its been at the Jersey shore. Tonight is the Magic Kingdom, we cant wait to see the updates to the Pirates ride. Going to downtown Disney tomorrow to take my friends grandaughter to the bibbidi bobbidi boutique for the full Princess treatment. See everyone on the cruise!

Excellent news about the tequilla tasting. I know some have posted their disappointment that it wasn't margarita tasting but DH actually likes the taste of tequilla and would be very interested in trying different brands.

I know what you mean about packing the snorkeling stuff - one of our suitcases is exclusively devoted to "beach" stuff, like all the snorkeling gear. That's why I made DH buy new flippers because he old ones were HUGE and weighed a ton. We also pack all the suntan lotion/shampoos/salene in that suitcase so if anything opens up there is nothing that can be ruined.

Yes, expandable luggage is the key. When we went on our first DCL cruise back in 2002 we splurged and got good quality luggage for the entire family. Even the kids' luggage is expandable and came with its own garment bag. It even came with a bag to store your dirty laundry.

You know the biggest change in the past few years is needing a separate luggage case for all the electronics rechargers. Sheesh - digital cameras/camcorders/cell phones/Gameboys/iPods. Why can't there be a universal recharger for all our electronics.

Excellent news about the short wait at Newark. Many thanks for the update. I think at this point I'm less concerned about long lines at the airport and more concerned about traffic delays with all the road construction on Route 78.

Off to see the chiropractor. The kids and I go on a regular basis. Those back and neck adjustments really makes a difference.

Doreen: I was hoping to bring a couple of bottles of Rosa Regale, but I don't want to pack them. Maybe I can find a cheap wine shop near the port.

My DH got a big promotion today, so we are going out for Mexican food to celebrate! Gotta have a couple of margaritas for this! So much for getting homework done!

We ate dinner at 4pm, just sitting here waiting for our cat sitter (a co-worker of mine) to stop by so we can show her where all of Stefani's stuff is.

I went in to school today again and I think I have enough done now to forget about it until I get back. Steve was a busy bee and picked up all of that stuff that we can't bring on the plane anymore.
I hope all of you leaving tomorrow have a safe and pleasant journey. We'll be here holding down the fort till Friday.

The cat-sitter just left with the house key after meeting Stefani.

Hazel and Angelina did a little more shopping today.
