Bypassing the "Getting ready to board" photo

We aren't interested in having our photo taken just before we board the ship. We're sailing out of PC on our second cruise in August. I cannot remember the set up very well, so I'm asking for help. Is there a separate line for people who want to board without pictures? If not, do we have to wait in the picture line, decline it, and then move forward, or is there a way to go around it? I hate to waste time in line for a picture I know I won't purchase.

Thanks.

You can bypass the picture. Usually where you see the line forming go to the right and you can walk up the gangway. My family usually looks like we have walked a million miles so we always skip that picture.

No they do not once you get your first picture and swipe your room key the facial software will start the recognition process.

so if we are three cabins but take our pictures together once and swipe my key card will all the pictures of everyone come up in my folder? will the system assume we are all together?
i don't understand the way the pictures work now. i have only bought two and that was before facial recognition.

We decline all pictures. I'm not buying them, so I'm certainly not wasting my time posing for them. Keep to the right to avoid the picture line.

We always want to make a beeline for Cabanas, but have to stop to be announced. Then they usually try to herd us toward Enchanted Garden. I just say thank you and take the hallway along side Royal Palace (Dream) to the aft elevators and straight up to deck 11.

these could be my words, verbatim.

I know this is a not off topic....but can you skip them announcing your name as your board?
Not a fan of this at all

What does the "Getting ready to board" photo actually look like? :confused3 Since it will be our FIRST cruise, I really don't want to miss a thing. popcorn::

I agree with not bypassing it your first time. Some of our favorite pictures are from boarding. And we buy all our pictures. You may not know if you're a buy the pictures or don't buy the pictures family until you try it all out. Our boarding pictures have had a dark color background with the DCL logo. It looks almost like a solid color in the pix. Everyone looks so happy & relaxed that they come out so nice. It's also before we've almost blinded our children by taking their pictures a thousand times so they're not tired of being photographed yet. :rotfl:

If you are booked concierge, do they bring you to the front of both the photo and boarding lines?

When you book Concierge, they allow concierge guest to start boarding about 1130 am. So you will be one of the first on the ship

If you get to the port later, after concierge boarding has happened, I don't think they will allow you to go to the front of the line for pictures.

We did. They walked us up on the right side of the line and took us next. Same person walks you up to the ship to get announced.
After you get announced, you get an escort to the lounge.
