Just wanted to put in a positive word re: BWV.
DH and I checked in yesterday and the CMs at the front desk were friendly and very welcoming. Our room wasn't ready yet, so we headed over to EPCOT. After hitting a couple of the wine seminars:-)rolleyes1 ) and having a bite at Seasons, we headed back to BWV (I called and the room was ready). I told DH not to give bell services the luggage ticket (for retrieval) until we had checked out the room (I had read a number of really negative reports about the condition of the BWVs lately).
Well, I am very glad to say that the room was just fine!:thumbsup2 (And no, we didn't have that much wine at the seminars  ). Not only was everything fine, but soon after we had unpacked and settled in, Nancy, from Mousekeeping, called to find out if we were satisfied with our room (a first for us , in 10 years of coming here :goodvibes )
I'll write more next week after we return (unless something extraordinary happens); DH will be monopolizing this laptop for most of the time, and when he's not, we'll be meandering around the parks. :goodvibes
:flower3:

That's great to hear! :thumbsup2 It's always a bit depressing when people come back and post negative reports about our DVC home. :sad1: (Even though we've never had a bad time there.)

I'm very happy to read a good report! Thanks! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful vacation!

Thanks for the report! I always remind myself that more people will report when there's a problem than if things went smoothly. So, I've pretty much decided that for every negative stay there's at least 50 that went fine.

We just sold our SSR points and now BWV is our only home and I'm happy to hear that things are going well.

We just returned from 10 nights at BWV, and I agree, the service was great! There's so much chatter about DVC not hiring enough housekeepers, but I must say, the ones they have hired are very friendly and do a great job on the rooms. I don't know if our room was ready at 4pm (it wasn't at 3:45 when we called from the park and checked, but after another Chef demo it was ready and waiting for us).

We found our BWV room in good repair and "clean enough" when we checked in last Saturday. DS loved the new sleeper sofa, which was a lot more comfortable and easier to open then the old ones.

We also checked in last Saturday (10/27) around 1:30 pm. Had booked a standard view 1 bedroom and was surprised to be "upgraded" to a Preferred View - Pool/Garden. I told the CM that I actually preferred the standard view rooms and really didn't want to be upgraded. While she was telling me it could be changed back, my DH asked if the room was ready (he wanted to watch a football game). It was. So we took it - and I remembered that the view wasn't really all that important, anyway (as opposed to a cranky DH). :teeth:

Turned out to be a room on second floor (so no need to use the elevators at all). Room overlooked the barbecue area near the quite pool. We could see the ToT and some of the Fantasmic fireworks from the balcony. Very quite area - no noise from the hallways or neighbors.

Room was totally clean and in good condition - and after all the bad reports here, I really looked for housekeeping "mistakes"! Didn't find any.

Luggage (from ME) arrived around 4:30 pm.

For some reason, we got fresh towels, new coffee packs (which we didn't use as I bring Caribou & filters) and new toiletries every day of our stay. Also, our trash & recycling baskets were removed each day, and on one day, the dishwasher was run.

Front Desk, Housekeeping & Resort Guest Services CMs were all friendly and competent (and I've not ever found them otherwise).

All that said, I still prefer the standard view rooms, especially when I can get one in my favorite location - upper floor across from the bus stop. :)

Oh, Carol, Dan and I had your room....4121. This is our favorite location, too. Dan ignored my advice not to ask for a particular room when he made the reservation, and had asked for 4119, and they got us right next door.

Good for you - it is a great location! (And we were just fine with our room) ;)
