Breakfast Options

Where do you guys recommend to eat breakfast and still make Morning Magic hours? We prefer sit down, but it looks like a lot of them do not open early enough.

Most of the DTD sit down places don't open until 8. In DTD, Jamba Juice will be open as well as Starbucks. On Harbor, IHOP and Denny's will be open (I think they are 24 hours).

For a 7 or 8am EMH we always grab a small snack from Starbucks and then find a more substantial breakfast maybe 2 hours into the morning.

We typically eat a little something at the hotel- bagel, yogurt, fruit in the morning. Then we eat breakfast around 10-11am. We love breakfast, but are not early morning eaters. Plus, its hard enough to get to the park for early entry without having to add time to sit down and eat.

White Water Snacks in the GCH does open at 6:30 am and has breakfast sandwiches/ burritos, waffles, and a couple other options.

That's what we do too. Quick snack, not too substantial, then nice breakfast once things start getting busy.

I'd recommend eating something light, using your MM, and doing a late morning breakfast reservation in the parks or DTD (we like to do the latest breakfast sitting for Carnation Cafe). Usually you're ready for a break then, and a late breakfast and then earlyish dinner can usually serve as your main meals with some snacks around that. At the DLH, you'll have a fridge in your room. You can run over to Whitewater or another store and pick up yogurt, muffins, etc. for snacking on before you head to MM.

We usually bring cereal and pop tarts/protein bars to the hotel, have a light breakfast, and then sit down for something more substantial in the park, like Plaza Inn which is our favorite character meal, or a QS breakfast meal. Sometimes we eat our light breakfast, grab a snack around 10, and then grab a pizza outside of the park when we head out for a midday break. This way keeps the costs way down.

We have stopped at Jamba Juice for a quick bite ( breakfast burrito, smoothies, etc) and then after a few hours, we'd have breakfast at Tomorrowland Terrace. Don't know if we will do that anymore since Tomorrowland Terrace got rid of the breakfast burrito and replaced it with a tamale. The breakfast burrito is what dh would get. He really liked it so much so, he said we need to find somewhere else for breakfast! If the powers that be wanted a tamale on the menu, why didn't they just add it and left the breakfast burrito there. Ugh. One item by one, DL is slowly turning into just another amusement park in California to visit.

Flo's in DCA is one of the places that is open for breakfast. My daughter and I share the child's fruit platter. Same thing as adults, but 1) you get a small milk 2) about 20 cents CHEAPER! The CM behind the counter pointed it out to us! Whitewater snacks is a great place for any meals or for a snack and a quiet place to rest. It usually is very calm and peaceful in there.

My family isn't big on eating right when they wake up, so I pack things for the room/purse like Nutri Grain bars, gogurts/yogurts, fruit (apples with an apple slicer, nuts, cereal, milk, Costco freshed baked cookies, etc so when the munchies hit right before bed, there are choices that are right there. Plus, they are great for the ride to and from home.

We'll usually hit one of the little fruit stands and grab a mango container, apple and peanut butter, or pineapple spear for breakfast. They have a fruit stand in the little shop by Jungle Cruise in Adventureland. We will usually grab that after we go on a couple of rides and that will last us until we get a midmorning snack or even until lunch.

Either that or a quick stop by McDonald's for a quick breakfast sandwich while we walk over to Disneyland from our hotel on Harbor.

Our best breakfasts were at the Carnation Café. We tried it once and it was amazing. Something about eating on Main Street, watching the morning unfold. We did it a few days later again, and it was more amazing. There is something special about watching people on Main Street while eating an incredible breakfast ... all of the dishes we tried were between good and great. On our other days we grabbed a quick breakfast in DD (Jamba, Starbucks, La Brea Bakery), which also worked, but it lacked magic.

If you want something out of the park, near the park where you could sit down or take to go, we did well at Panera Bread beside the Fairfield Inn. It was always open early enough for us to get breakfast and still be first in line.
