Booking ADR's alongside of Travel Agent

We are planning our first ever visit to WDW in May 2015. We decided to go through a local Travel Agent because at first we knew nothing about what to expect. She has been herself multiple times in the past few years, and seems very knowledgable and is very excited to be planning a Disney trip.

Since we first booked, my wife and I have done a lot of reading and now feel up to speed. We are also planners, and find the planning stage really fun. We have gone over crowd estimates and plans, and laid out our itinerary for ADR's with a few FP+s we want to make.

Our 180 mark is coming up this week, and while we have given our TA a list of what we want, it's hard for us to just hand that over and hope that she can get them for us. I know she will try her best to get them for us, but part of me just wonders how hard she will try.

I find myself wanting to be trying to make the hard to get reservations along side of her just so that I know a true effort was tried. But, I don't want to be stepping on toes.

Thoughts?

You can always book any ADRs on your own. You don't have to use a TA.

I booked my resort res through a TA because she can keep me up to speed if any better prices come out. As for ADR's, I booked all of those myself. I'm a huge planner too and I felt more at east booking my dining and FP+ on my own.

As a TA myself, I can tell you that you won't be stepping on toes. Do not try to make your own as well, because the system could cancel any with times that are overlapping.

Just email her that you want to make the reservations yourself, so she has it in writing. That way there is no mistake that she was or was not going to obtain them. Is she a Disney specialist or a general TA?As a Disney enthusiast, I can tell you I do try very hard, and treat each reservation like my own. That said, a few (BOG, for example) can be impossible to get even at the precise moment your booking window opens, since those checking in a week before you have already had access to those dates. Same with FP+. The longer and more flexible your trip, the easier it can be.

Good luck!! :cool1:
