I played Bingo last night and I won the jackpot! $2000! Yippeee! We will use $1000 when we go to WDW to splurge and I'm adding the other $1000 into our Disney Fund aka ING account. I have only been playing Bingo for three weeks and only lost $20 in it so I made my money back and then some! Zippity Doo Dah Zippity Eh! My oh my, what a wonderful day!!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Wow! Talk about beginners' luck! Congratulations on your windfall! I'll bet that there were plenty of "regulars" who were staring daggers at you for winning "their" jackpot! My grandma played religiously and would always complain when a newcomer would do well. To her, a newcomer was someone who hadn't been playing at her game for at least 10 years!;)

Good for you! I love playing Bingo on the cruise ships, but have never played at home. Maybe I'll get a group of girls together and we could go try this out. Do you just walk in and buy a card like on cruise ships?

I played the "real life" bingo. DH was kind of skeptical about me playing because it's addictive. I'm a beginner so I've only been playing one board at a time. Some people have 10 boards...I'm not that swift yet. DH and I agreed that after I lose $100 in Bingo that I will stop if my winning streak ceases. So not bad for a new comer. I was laughing and screaming so I didn't see any dirty looks from the Bingo vets. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

    Congrats!:Pinkbounc

I've played for several years (only a couple times a year) and I've never hit a jackpot:( The best I've ever done is walking away with about $200. I'm going on Monday with my MIL before our trip to the beach and I would be thrilled to not lose any $!

Enjoy your money with the mouse:earsboy:!

I won my first time out too! $1000. I used it to pay for my wedding. I've only been back a couple of times and didn't win a thing. That was 18 years ago!

    Congrats on your win!

I am a Bingo Agent at a casino here in Vegas, and having grown up in NJ playing, and working here, I GUARANTEE you the regulars were giving you the evil eye, especially if your hair is not yet blue!!!! LOL!!!

Where were you playing? (I'm from Montclair, NJ) and used to play church bingos in NJ, and VFW-type when in Florida. It's a LOT different here in Vegas (and WAAAYYYYY cheaper)!!!!!

I used to go every week with my mom. We sat with some real hard core people though. These were people that would play 40 cards at a time with no markers.

    Hi Patti,

I just moved to Short Hills from Teaneck and I know Monclair very well. I taught two semesters at Montclair State Univ. I play Bingo at local church in Plainfield where the kids in my troop live so I'm there every week. It is far from my house but I love to play bingo. I used drive past it once a week and would think about going in. One day my best friend said, "let's try bingo" and we've been going ever since.

How much can you win playing Bingo in Vegas? I didn't know they had bingo in casinos, but then again I'm not much of a gambler either. :)

Amirah: I graduated from Mtc. State in 1987 and taught HS in Livingston for about 10 years, so I know your area. DH taught in North Plainfield, so he'd probably know what church you mean. Small world!

Most of the larger locals casinos have Bingo. The only bingo on the Strip is the Frontier, and at Fremont Street the Plaza. The session jackpots are almost always $1000, but the "lucky number" jackpots get into the $5-10,000 range. Progressives range from $25-150,000. It's a LOT of money for costing $5 minimum per hour!

Several years ago I worked a one-day million dollar bingo tournament, and the grand prize winner won, you guessed it, $1,000,000. The funny thing was, she was in my area so I got to talking to her, and she was from Clifton, NJ!!!!!

The only gambling I do is bingo...but we have bingo 24/7/365 out here, so look out!!!

:jumping1: Happy for you...I can not play Bingo...one of the most stressful games out there, I hate waiting for my number to be called...it feels like torture to me. But I am glad you did so well!!!
