Do you really have to pack up your room, give them your luggage, get off, find your luggage and wait to get back on????

No. If you are in the same cabin for you second cruise you do not even have to pack up. You can leave your things in your room. You just won't have access to the room until the normal time.

If you are in a different cabin you obviously have to pack up so that your things can be moved to the new cabin, but I don't believe you have to have your bags removed from the ship and collect them in the port.

B2B cruisers are taken off of the ship separately, checked out and checked back in, then allowed to reboard. It takes maybe 30 minutes.

Nope. If you are staying in the same cabin, you leave your stuff there, but you do have to disembark and get back on - but they have a very simple procedure for this where you simply walk through the terminal and go right back on. You will be one of the first people to get on - even prior to concierge. You will most likely be back on by 10 am. So you wait until last disembark time and then you will be able to walk right back on without to much delay if any at all.

I think it's one of the greatest things in the world as you have the whole ship practically to yourself for a couple hours! So make sure you have your swimsuits on!

You still will not be able to get to your cabin until 1pm.

Hey MB, it's Karen! I came here to search the same question and found you did too!

DCL customer service said to go to Guest services on the first embarkation day and let them know that we are B2B cruisers, but, other than that, they would not commit to the fact that we don't have to pack up all of our stuff.

We secured the same room for both B2B cruises and I REEAAALLLY do not want to have to pack up twice!! I'm glad to hear what the other posters are saying!

If you are in the same stateroom, you don't pack up. If you are in a different stateroom, you pack up and then someone will move your bags for you.

You'll get a letter the night before giving you the procedure. I know some people on other cruises who were to meet in one of the lounges and then were escorted off, went through customs and then brought back up to check in. We were just told to disembark by about 9:15 am, clear customs and then go back up and check back in again. There were only 3 families including us so we were put into the concierge lounge in the port and then allowed back on at about 10:30. All we took off the ship was our iPads and bathing suits.

You can't go back to your stateroom yet but the Cove Café was open so we sat there for a bit with a couple of coffees and then went for an early lunch. We had thought to go into the pool but just ended up reading for a while.

The procedure seems to vary with each cruise. We did back to back on Fantasy last summer. We did not receive a letter, I had to ask CM's what we were supposed to do and got different answers. We figured it out. Since we had the same cabin I did not have to pack. We were allowed back to our cabin once we reboarded (about 45 min waiting in the port). I did laundry and we explored the empty ship. Once regular boarding begins they ask that you either stay in your cabin or stay away - no going under the rope.

We've done 8 b2b's with Disney - in several different ports. We always have the same stateroom for both cruises (it's a must for us). The one constant has always been that we did not need to pack. (The most reservation agents you speak to haven't been on the ship once let alone done a b2b, so they can't really answer questions like that.)

We have always gotten a letter the last night (our cruises are linked as b2b) with instructions on the last night. You do have access to your cabin (in fact since the Dream started sailing and more people started doing b2b's they have made the hosts do the b2b cabins as a priority). They do ask that you not go back and forth to/from your cabin once other guest arrive because the new guests will want to access their staterooms and they aren't ready for that yet.

The length of time you are off the ship varies. With the bigger ships, we have found that it take longer so there is less of a gap between when b2b'ers reboard and new guest board. But you still do have some time on the ship without the large crowds. My advice -- hang out on the ship until you see just about everyone is off. It is more comfortable to wait on the ship than in the empty terminal. They can't start checking in the next cruise until they close out the first. And that means everyone off.

PP mentioned they only took off ipad and swimsuits...I assume you will need passports again to recheck in? I'd hate to leave them in the safe and need them!

We are B2Bing in the Med this summer but will move cabins (the one we wanted we could only get for the 2nd cruise, so we're next door for the 1st one). I don't mind the thought of packing up between because it will force us to go through the papers and souvenirs and FE gifts and such we've accumulated on the first portion!

You're not on the 4 night then 7 night (6th and 10th August) are you? We are sailing B2B too and only managed to get next door cabins for the 2 cruises.

Doubtful. But it would be very funny if we have each others cabins IYGWIM!!!

No, we're on June 15 and June 27 - and believe me, the June 15th people have heard me go on and on about how I want 6116 that I think if any of them had it, they would've sold it to me just to get us to hush about it. LOL.

I finally got a CM at DCL who was able to tell me it was booked along with 6118 so it's two cabins for one family - which stinks because they could have gotten 6122 and 6120 which are connecting (and still available) but instead they took 6116 and 6118 - most likely because that's what came up by default when they booked. We're in 6114 which is part of a connecting with 6112 - we've not sailed in a connecting before and hopefully there won't be any noise issues (either from us or from them).

We love 6116 and we booked the June 27th first - actually our TA booked it for us and grabbed the cabin for us because she knew it was important to us. We ended up booking thru DVC for the June 15th one later that same day and when we booked, 6116 and 6118 were already booked (I'd rather have 6118 than 6114 since 6118 isn't a connecting). Not getting "our" cabin isn't a deal breaker (obviously) but I kept hoping it would turn up available if they cancelled. We've sailed in 6116 multiple times - love the location.

Yes, all ID and cruise contract, etc. is required on re-check in. Forgot to mention that. Anything you would normally need on the first leg, like medication or what's required to check in (like credit card) you do have to take with you as well. Seems to me like that was also mentioned in the letter.
