~ I guess the beauty in all of this is I have NO idea what to expect and it's nothing short of exhilarating. The Fantasyland Expansion was leaked to the press three weeks before the official announcement was scheduled to take place. But Disney managed to keep a tight lid on Avatar-land -- no one could have predicted that Disney would be so BOLD and willing to take a gamble of this magnitude.

~ Now that I think about it - I'm willing to bet that Disney "leaked" the Fantasyland expansion to throw off the press while it finalized the Avatar-land deal! Brilliant! :goodvibes

I am grateful for Universal and WWoHP as I intend to vacation there soon -- but two of the three main rides were old rides that were simply re-themed for WWoHP. :)

In Avatar-land everything will be authentic and new! It's very exciting! :cheer2:

Now, Sea World Orlando has jumped into the game by announcing a major expansion for their park!

:cheer2: :dance3: :cool1: :dancer: party: ~ When theme parks compete we all win!~ party: :dancer: :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2:

I assume that's Joe Rohde in the middle? What a great shot...great fashion sense...great passion in his face and hands as he speaks....the guy just screams creativity.

Staggs on the other hand screams "cost control". :rotfl:

That's exactly what I was thinking! :lmao:

You're right! That's too funny! Yes, that is Rohde in the middle. Disney's gonna pay to play with Cameron. :rotfl:

I might as well post the second pic while I'm at it! It's a great pic ~ it's awesome to see great minds at work! http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...opment-of-first-avatar-themed-land-continues/

The cameras were probably there to prevent "accidents" as much as those harnesses. I mean, you just have to wonder if Rohde was thinking about cutting the cord and pushing Staggs and/or Cameron in. ;)

The problem is that it's really polarizing--Avatar, while being very pretty, was the sort of annoying environmental extmism that alienates about half of the country. And the sort of leftist who salivated over Avatar isn't a large part of Disney's demographic; they'd rather go somewhere "authentic."

The environmentalism certainly fits in with Animal Kingdom, but is likely to do so less in the "reasonable steward of the Earth" style that permeates most of AK, and more in the nagging "people are evil" style found more at Rafiki's Planet Watch. And that's the reason I don't go to Rafiki's Planet Watch any more.

They should be able to make some good rides out of it, but Beastly Kingdomme or Night Kingdom were better ideas.

I'm a leftist, I am a huge part of disney's demographic, I love environmentalism and I don't like Avatar. Your pigeon holes confuse me.
