We are checking in to Aulani 12/14 for 7 nights in a 2 bedroom lock off, pool view. I had called MS a few weeks ago to request 5th floor. Since I have such a request, should I do online check in, or just wait until arrival and check availaibilty at the front desk? We will arrive a little after lunch. We'll wait to head to Costco until after we have checked in. I really hope we can get a 5th floor villa...I know, just a request. I'm hoping with the opening of Ewa tower that there is more availability.

Thoughts?

I highly recommend the online check-in for Aulani. We did it for our trip in August/September, and when we arrived, we were greated (by name) at the porte cochere by an attendant. The attendant had our room keys, and was aware that we were on our honeymoon. He arranged for Bell Services to take our bags for us, while he gave us a tour of the lobby and vecinity, and explained the goings-on for the day. It definitely added something special to our arrival, and we could feel the exhaustion from travel begin to melt away immediately.:cloud9:

All of the staff at Aulani are top notch, and I'm certain that everything will be done to accomodate your request. In the worst case scenario, if your pre-assigned room isn't satisfactory you could always take it up with the front desk (which you would have had to do anyway, if you hadn't checked-in online).

Good luck, and enjoy Aulani!

Chris - we did online check in followed by a call to Member Services to add a request of room location. We arrived right after lunch, were greated at the car and was told our room was ready. We were given our leis, offered some water, escorted inside for a brief tour of the lobby area and then given our keys. We never went to the front desk. I highly recommend online check-in.

Sounds great! I haven't even arrived yet and I know I'll be planning a return trip. It sounds so wonderful.

Thanks Mary! I have had my room location requests granted at AKV, but only once at VGC. Boy it sure would be great if our room was ready!! The introduction to the resort sounds amazing.

I am so excited I can't stand it. I think I'll start packing tonight! We leave next Thursday but will spend the first night in Waikiki on Hilton points.
